I was sent here via ambulance from Greenbriar Valley Hospital for severe colitis and have been here for the last few days. The whole staff and doctors have been great. With that being said, I especially want to point out Sharon Smith, RN and Angel Walden, MA. They took care of me like my mother or wife would have done and Mede this terrible experience a lot more tolerable than I can express. Thank you all for the wonderful care you have provided. I would of left 5 stars if it weren't for Leslie (RN) I want to say EVERYONE ELSE WAS GREAT at the Teays Valley ER, the lady that did my 2 yr old sons intake and took his weight was a sweetheart... The xray technicians were friendly and wonderful with him.... HOWEVER Leslie (RN) was apallingly rude.. she stormed in our room with an attitude, didn't even tell me she was about to stick the q tip in my sons nose just shoved it in there with an attitude while he cried his eyes out she said nothing but "could u not have taken him to his pediatrician?" I explained we can't get in with her usually for a long time and I was worried about him. I asked if someone would be checking his chest and she took her stethoscope and listened hastily said "yeah sounds just fine smooth as a bell and they probably won't do an x ray for him they usually don't do that"... well turns out the wonderful Dr. DID do an xray and found pneumonia and picornavirus.... I would like to know that she was reprimanded for the treatment we received from her. She has no care for her patients. The Dr. And other staff were PHENOMENAL though!!!!

My husband went to the ER for intense stomach pain and ended up having his gallbladder removed. I can’t say much for the ER, they were pretty inattentive in the beginning and the nurse wasn’t the nicest person in the world. HOWEVER, once my husband was admitted, the staff in his wing were amazing. I’m talking maintenance, housekeeping, janitorial, nurses, nursing assistants, everyone was so kind and took really great care of my husband AND me! I can’t thank them enough for everything they did while he was there.

I wouldn’t even let my worst enemy go to this hospital. You would think being overtaken by new leadership some years back they’d be better. Not at all. Between a neglectful doctor(whom used to work here) and neglectful current staff my grandmother is dead. I have opened both a case and a FULL investigation as well as having a military lawyer to go through this process with me as a result. I have still YET to get a “nurses” name but she works on the ER floor once you’re admitted. About 5’4, average weight, shoulder length hair that’s brown with a tint of slightly blonde, a RBF, and approximately 50s-60s years of age. Claims to have worked there over 30 years. I told this lady NUMEROUS times something was wrong with my grandmother and she blantantly ignored me. Told me she’s fine it’s a sign of her potassium. ATLEAST 5x not including how many times my wife told her. The result? She ended up seizing, rushed to the ICU to never talk or move again, to DEAD. We made a formal complaint and anytime we’d walk by her(you have to in order to get to the ICU) she would sarcastically laugh and shake her head(due to the complaint). Previously, my grandmother had a leg surgery from a fall. They casted her up and I explained something doesn’t look right with her knee. Come to find out they didn’t even x-ray her knee-it was broken. Leaving her permanently disabled and crippled. They had to take it all off and out bolts and screws in the poor woman. I have ALL of the proof I need to back up ALL of my claims and will gladly do so on here. This place is a JOKE. I don’t know how the doors are still open to this place. I also want to add that while my grandmother was actively dying they(only certain staff on certain days) wouldn’t let my 10 year old niece back to see her despite the sign clear as day saying no children allowed *WITHOUT-THE-COMPANY-OF-AN-ADULT* look out for the short, heavy set girl with long black hair in the ICU as well as the short, heavy set girl with red hair in the ICU as well. Do NOT take yourself or your loved ones here if you value yourself and your health.

My wife and I have been there a few times and we are very happy with our treatment from check in to checkout all the folks at Teays Valley Hospital have been great at providing the health services we have needed.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I just moved to this state and don’t know where much is right now. My daughter got sick at night and was in extreme pain. I took her there and they got us back quickly. Then it went down hill. The nurse came in and never introduced herself, asked history, or anything just came in and did two swabs and left. The doctor never came back until results were in. He never once checked her throat (where we’re having issues), checked her heart, nothing. Told me she had a pretty serious virus one of the dangerous ones (not Covid) and that’s it. Didn’t check her to make sure it was progressing to the dangerous side effects. Sent us home with nothing. My poor child is in so much pain in her throat she can’t sleep. She’s up every 10-40 minutes screaming in pain. Motrin isn’t touching it. How do you not even look and exam your patients?! Didn’t even ask a medical history! I will be finding somewhere a lot better and I pray there is better in this state.

It would genuinely be better if you'd pass away before you EVER WENT TO THIS HELL HOLE. Waited 7 hours just for them to tell me my chest pain was ibs/acid reflux.
They did jack all to prove this, and can't give me any actual medical reasonings as to why it would be either FOR MY CHEST.
Worst place on planet earth. Safe your money and save your life.

Went to the ER this morning (3/23/24) for a ruptured ear drum and I knew what it was because I’ve had them before when I was little. Was in the room for no more than 30 minutes and the doctor claimed he didn’t see any redness and it was just allergies. An hour later I woke up from a nap with my EAR BLEEDING!!!!!! Went to CAMC-general in Charleston and they said it was a definitely ruptured ear drum. I get there’s only so many people working but damn, listen to patients if they’re in pain.
