Just got back from Calder Mountain Lodge. Coming in to Point Bakery, you'll obviously see the beauty surrounding you. Then you'll see the lodge, but the first thing you'll notice about this lodge is how friendly the staff is. Soon as we stepped off onto the, Calder Mountain Lodge dock, we were greeted by close to 15 incredibly friendly staff members, this was unexpected. Bill who manages it all, he must be one of the most knowledgeable and kind people in this business. My boat was new, the equipment was perfect, they opened up and cleaned a reel that fell in the water, they restocked our boat so we could fish different area that same day. Always multiple staff on dock at any given time. Hotel style living with the main lodge underneath, every room is close to dinner. Word of mouth around the dinning hall is great, they put us on some great spots. The dining hall and lodge area have maps to go over, you can set your favorite spots up on the chart plotter the night before, every boat has one. They'll help you do it all. If you're looking for a care free fishing trip, with a well trained and professional staff, Calder Mountain Lodge is the place. It offers everything other self guided lodges offer, but the staff blew the other's away, Calder Mountain Lodge is now my new favorite. Make sure you book early, you don't want to miss making these memories with family or friends.

We have visited Calder Mountain since 2013 and our experience has been nothing but excellent, it just keeps getting better.  Bill and Nicole have taken care of every detail to make sure the trip goes smoothly.  The fishing is unmatched, the lack of other people on the water gives the full Alaska experience and the quality of fish are excellent.  The boats, tackle and everything handled at the dock is second to none.  We are always greeted with friendly dock staff and our fish promptly processed and frozen.  After a day of fishing we are always welcomed with warm smiles as we eat endless homestyle dinner and fresh made desserts.  Calder Mountain is hands down the best experience a person could ask for!!!

Had the best time this past week at Calder Mountain Lodge. My dad and most of my siblings were for a week fishing and making memories. This is my first time here but my father and one of my brothers have been here three times. It was amazing!! For self guided halibut and salmon fishing this place is top notch. I guess you can also get guided services but we opted for un guided. Bill, Chris, Jerri and all of the help were great!. Always so helpful and made you feel like you were at home. Weather for us was pretty good as well. The fishing was challenging but we came home with fish so it worked out well for us. Hope to come up here again!! Would highly recommend these guys to take great care of you while you are trying to do your best to catch the "Big One".

we had a great trip, fishing was awesome and very close by to the lodge. I think the furthest we went was 8 miles, and there was fishing all over between the lodge and there. We just like to explore! the staff was absolutely awesome! very attentive and very accommodating. The facilities were great, clean and comfortable, with good meals. The boats were great, we rented the 20' covered boat, but the open boats are great as well - just bring your rain gear either way! overall an awesome trip and we will be back!

I visited the lodge for the second year in a row and the experience was just as great as the first time. What sets this lodge apart is the amazing staff. They are so helpful and anticipate your needs. Excellent lodging, excellent food, and the fishing is fantastic.. I hope to enjoy this lodge for many more years to come..

Had an incredible trip with the folks at Calder Mountain Lodge. My buddy and I used their lodge as a base camp for a bear hunt and we were incredibly impressed. I've stayed at a lot of lodges in the lower 48 and the hospitality we recieved from Bill, Chris, Jerie and Jack was best in class. They were accomidating in every regaurd, the food was fantastic and all the gear we used was kept in perfect working order. Book with absolute confidence.

We booked our 2022 spring bear hunt with Clader Mtn Lodge. The hunting and fishing were excellent everyday.
The staff was first class Chris, Jeri, Hobie and Bill and made all guests feel welcome and at home.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great time in Alaska to fish, hunt or a combination of both.

I cannot express enough how amazing of a lodge these guys are running. Staff learns everyone's names by day two, situated on an amazing fishery, they set you up for success of every way and always go above and beyond to do more than accommodate you. A member of our group was gluten free and they had a separate meal for him every dinner, as well as even a gluten free birthday cake for his birthday complete with all the staff singing happy birthday! Excellent fish packaging as well and all around a good deal. You need to know the basics of salmon fishing and halibut/rockfish fishing given that it is a self guided situation, but the fishery is located right in front of the lodge and they do offer guided trips if you want for your first day or two to learn the ropes. Absolutely phenomenal. Big thank you to Chris and Bill and all their amazing staff!
