This is an awesome little place, where they grow their own food or source very locally. Great hippy vibe. If you're looking for a menu with 100 choices, or the same vibe you can get at any chain, please look elsewhere. If you want a unique place with really nice people, delicious food and some great coffee drinks (try the white chocolate lavender coffee drink-you'll thank me), Cafe Appalachia is an awesome choice.

So happy there is another breakfast place in town. Now it’s already one of my favorite places to eat in Charleston. I believe the restaurant is like a renovated church and the garden outside makes the place like a little secret getaway. The food is fresh and they are diet conscious with their recipes and servings. The coffee varieties are pleasing also. It opens early also and I am a fan of that. It’s quiet and has a mood that caters to my spirit. The quiche type meal they make is incredible. I don’t know the name of it but it’s in the photos. It’s so good. The cheesy grits are spectacular also. I am awaiting the zucchini bread on the next venture because that is one of my favorite things ever and you can’t get it anywhere else in the area to my knowledge. I will be a regular here in the mornings having coffee and doing the crossword.

Extremely cute, well done cafe ambiance! Good food, although a little small on the toast portions (cheapest part of the meal), but high quality ingredients. Highly recommend!

This morning I ate here for the first time. It was delightful. I dropped my fiance off in the area and decided I wanted a good breakfast nearby. A quick google search showed many options, but this one caught my eye. The fresh produce, the aesthetic, the good reviews... It wasn't until I got there that I realized how incredible their mission is and how delightful my experience would be. Being a nonprofit for women in recovery is truly special. Beyond that, the service was amazing. I believe the woman who took my order was named Sammie, and she seemed really great. I am happy this cafe is here, and I will be bringing my fiance next time! I highly recommend coming to experience it.

An old church convereted to a cozy coffee shop. Interesting place to have brunch. Nice ambiance with outdoor sittings. Small selection of food. A little bit pricey. Wifi available. Ample parking. Good place to bring your date or meet your clients.

Food was just okay. I got the quiche—it was lukewarm and nothing to write home about. Seems like home-style cooking. The atmosphere and workers were delightful, however.

The parfait and bacon were SO yummy! All the staff members were super friendly and the atmosphere was low key and chill. Love what the cafe stands for. I’m from out of town but hope to stop by again one day!

My husband and I had breakfast at this little gem this morning. Delicious food (and very vegetarian friendly), great staff, beautiful setting. And the garden is not to be missed. Will definitely eat here again if we’re ever back in the area.
