The meat is definitely smoked. If you like outside meat then this place is perfect for you.
The sandwich was massive and had good flavor. The pickles were homemade and outstanding. The pork plate and two sides were more than I could eat. The Mac and cheese had a different texture and took away from the flavor. The bbq beans had a lot of meat and good smoke flavor.
The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was the meat with the heavy smoke. The meat had been off the smoker for a while which caused it to dry out.
All and all it was good.

“Hey Google, give me the best places to eat In Opelika.” Well this bbq spot showed up and thank goodness I was craving bbq. So let’s start off with the environment and staff. The environment is soo cute. The spot was definitely any other bbq would have, small, little house-like buildings with old paintings and the smell of smokes in the air. I like it. Sure it may have some scraps but it really shows how old and historic it looks. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lady that took was very informative and polite. And the guy that gave my food was quick and clear. Also to mention I went on a Wednesday. Now with the food.. it was okay. Mid. The brisket was very tender and juicy, yet it had a taste to it. That I didn’t like. Same goes for the wings, grilled nicely and cooked throughly yet it had a taste that i couldn’t describe. My sides were stew and baked beans.. I wasn’t feeling the stew that much. The baked beans were ok. Genuinely this place was okay. I can’t say more than that. Also grab peanut butter pie, I did like that. It was creamy and delicious!! You guys should totally check out the place for yourself. Everyone’s opinions is different. I won’t be returning.

The staff was great! I believe I met the owner while I was there. I could hear how proud he is of what he sells to the public. Once something is sold out, better luck next time you visit.

I had the brisket plate with their BBQ baked beans and brunswick stew. I ordered a side of three ribs. They were calling me. LoL. Every bite of what I had ordered was awesome. This is a must stop if you are in the Opekila area!!

Really great authentic BBQ place if you are in the area it's worth the stop. They have the ability to accommodate allergies; I would personally recommend the brisket.

You know it has to be good and fresh if they run out of food as they day goes on!

Worst BBQ I've ever had. Worst brunswick stew. The "stew" was a watery corn and chicken soup. The bbq sauce was oil with no flavor. Soaked into my potato and made it taste bad. Wouldn't recommend or go back. Sad because I was looking forward to some good bbq. Should have gone to the other place a few blocks away.

The pull pork was really good. Also the banana pudding and mac and cheese was good.The pickles that they have on the side were not my favorite. That being said, im not a cucumber person, and with what i believe is to be homemade pickles, you will be able to taste cucumbers. And thats all personal preference. Would recommend going to anyone.

In the area from Pittsburgh. I thought it would be easy to find some good BBQ in the south. I was staying near Lake Martin while visiting family from Pelham. I searched and searched and decided if I was gonna get some good BBQ I'd have to go for a drive. So off to Opelika I went. Brisket and ribs were both delicious as well as the collard greens. Food did not disappoint. Indoor dining area was a bit small.
