Wow what a week in Alaska! This was our first time staying at the Burly Bear Bunkhouse and absolutely loved it! The cabins were so clean and nice. Our hosts, the Heaps, were the best! They treated us like royalty and helped us find places to fish. Pretty sure this Salmon is a record breaker. We would recommend anyone to stay here.

My family recently had the incredible experience of staying at the Burly Bear Bunkhouse in Soldotna, Alaska, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Our guide and host, Gordon and Irene, made this trip one to remember.

We spent most days fishing on the majestic Kenai River. Quality fishing equipment was provided, and Gordons deep knowledge of the river and fishing techniques ensured we had a productive and thrilling day on the water. One of the highlights was our drive to Homer, where we had the awe-inspiring experience of seeing eagles and Moose’ up close.

On top of learning the proper fishing techniques on how to “Floss” we learned how to clean and filet our fish, with our group sharing his expertise with patience and enthusiasm. His hands-on approach made it easy for everyone in our group to learn and enjoy the process.

If you're considering a fishing trip in Alaska, I highly recommend the Burly Bear Bunkhouse in Soldotna. Their passion and expertise make it an outstanding choice for an unforgettable adventure.

GREAT place to stay!!! The cabins are really nice and very clean. You could not ask for better hosts/owners. Gordon and Irene are wonderful people and will make your stay amazing.
