Stopped here on a drive from Anchorage to Homer for lunch. The food was good, and the service was friendly. It's like Alaskan pub food, which is exactly what we wanted. The fried halibut nuggets are delicious. The building is a little old and dirty, but it's packed, and there was a lively crowd. Nothing fancy, but the food is good!

The food was a bit hit or miss. My crispy chicken sandwich was very firm, I am not sure what happened but it was difficult to bite through and there was a section that was so tough I couldn't chew it. My husband thought I just needed to try harder until he took a bite of the tough part and also couldn't chew it. But the flavor was good, buttery, and my husband did enjoy his burger. The fries are crispy which is always great. I also really liked that they had a 1/4 lb burger on the menu that adults can order (not just a kids menu thing), I didn't get it but I appreciate when restaurants offer smaller portions as I'm a petite person. The coloring paper at the table is fun too.

The breading on the crispy chicken is more like panko as opposed to a typical batter which isn't my favorite but that's just personal preference.

I always have to stop at Buckets when I'm passing thru Soldotna! Food is always spot on! This is the Junior Bucket Burger with bacon.. 🙂 I also recommend their chicken fried steak for breakfast on the weekends.. Family friendly establishment!

A bit on the pricey side, but good portions and great flavor. The atmosphere felt more like a bar than a restaurant but the glass ceiling and patio give you a great connection to the outdoors. The Wi-Fi was rejecting my connection requests for some reason, and the decor could use a bit of an update and the sun has faded some of the items.

Had the garlic parmesean chicken wigs, Caesar salad, grilled halibut, and New York strip steak. Very delicious! Everything is homemade, service is exceptional, and prices are worth it!

Been going to Buckets over 20 years, service has been getting worse and worse. Took over 45 minutes to get the wrong order. Table beside us also got wrong food. Not crowded so not to be blamed on volume. Just slow. Waitress for second time now put in incorrect sandwich. I know they can do better but will specifically request fluent English speaking waitress next time.

A pretty average experience. Food was good, service was good, and I enjoyed the gastro pub style atmosphere. I got the halibut nuggets, which were good, and probably the best fish and chips I had in Soldotna (while not the best I had during my week in AK). The jalapeno poppers were a let-down. I was hoping for something really good, but they were at the same level as the ones from the cheap fast food place by my house. Nothing special. Service was good, not great. I'd go back to try other things, but not necessarily because I was impressed with my first experience.
