Bruin Woods is a fantastic family trip and experience. The staff and counselors were great. The activities were enjoyable with a ton of options. The food was resort style and the rooms were perfect for a mountain/cabin experience. Bruin Woods is a gem and we look forward to coming back for many years to come.

This year was not the normal experience I’ve been used to over the many years I came here. The counselors were not as enthusiastic and happy, many of the things from the past were also canceled. Hopefully things perk up next year and did I mention the β€œspa water” that stuff was nasty

We just got back from the most amazing four day trip to Lake Arrowhead. When you take a "vacation" with your kids it's usually a trip, because you have to entertain the children all day, but at Bruin Woods, they truly make it a vacation. Bruin Woods has activities for the kids all day that they actually want to do, caring camp counselors with boundless energy of a 20 something and even activities for adults that are fun and allowed us to meet new friends. ||||The food was incredible, like really good, and I loved not having to cook or clean, and have dessert every day. I really appreciated all the healthy food too, which is atypical of camps, and my whole family was able to enjoy meals.||||I can't wait to come back for summer, since we went in December and everything was covered in snow.

I was only there for 24 hours and I cannot wait to return. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff excel at customer service, and the facilities are comfy and perfect for a mountain retreat. Yoga on the Zen Deck, pickleball and lawn games really brought our group together! I'm looking forward to visiting at a time when we can pontoon on the lake.

We have been going every summer for 9 years. Incredible week every year with the Staff (permanent and student) always exceptional! ||The food is too good - always put some LBs on during the week despite being active all days!||Fishing and water skiing excursions with the kids are a highlight and having the day away from the kids as they are off with their groups is great to relax and rejuvenate.

This could not be a more perfect getaway! Close drive up from the coast. Everyone is so wonderful and courteous! The food is better than a restaurant. The property is so perfect for anyone, but amazing for our family! Trails, pool, sport courts galore! Highly reccomend. Another reason to be a Bruin!

Visited Bruin Woods for the first time and had an amazing experience in a two bedroom condolet which included a living room, fireplace and two bathrooms. ||The main lodge has wonderful complimentary beverage service and outdoor and indoor fireplaces to catch that mountain vibe. ||The grounds are expansive and provide opportunities to walk and take in the wonderful lake views. ||The staff is fantastic and accommodated us on a special movie night (password: Grogu). ||Will be making the trek from LA again soon. ||🐻 Family fun πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘||

This place is fantastic! Must be alumni, faculty or staff of UCLA. They have family camps, which are so popular that you need to put your requests in a lottery very early in the year. They have things for all ages. The children are in age-appropriate, scheduled activities all day and evening if they want. This gives the adults time to wind down. They have many books, CDs, sporting equipment (every thing from Bocci Ball, Shuffle Board, board games and the usual things, such as ping pong, tennis, putting, horseback riding, hiking, etc. They also have a large pool, jacuzzi and work-out room. There is an open honor bar, too. The 3 buffet meals are fabulous. In the summer the Bruin Grill is open as well. The cabins have a loft upstairs with full bathroom and a bedroom downstairs with a private bathroom. Fireplace, large deck. No kitchen, fridge, microwave or tv. The setting is in a forest, which is beautiful. There are 40 acres to explore hiking. This is about $1,000 per adult for about a week.||They also have a Family and Friends option for the summer before the camps begin. It's $190/night for the cabin, with buffet breakfast only. We were able to use all of their games & equipment for free, including the docks for fishing (Bring your own tackle, etc.) Note that the cabins are not air conditioned, though. We happened to go during the 90 degree heat wave and it was a little uncomfortable. They do have fans, though. Neither the Bruin Grill nor the Honor Bar is open then. Unfortunately, it was too hot for most of the things to do. Lake Arrowhead is privately owned, so we couldn't go on it or the beach. Cute little restaurants and shops; however, a lot of them are closed due to the poor economy nowadays.
