We spent 4 days in Cumberland and loved every minute of our time in the storied Bruce home. The Robert Bruce suite was incredible and highly recommended, the high celings and gorgeous wood finishes and separate sitting room were so enjoyable. Gorgeous architecture throught home and walking distance to anywhere in town. The vinyl record player in front sitting room was a huge plus!

Delightful old federal house turned B & B, did I mention charming too?! What a gem in a beautiful neighborhood. Pam and her staff are true professionals yet make a guest feel right at home. We stayed on the top floor in the Monk's room and it was so cozy, private, gorgeous views, and comfortable. Good sized room with king size bed and large ensuite. Daily breakfast is included and it is homemade, delicious and tailored to your dietary needs.
This place has it all serenity, charm, history, service and all the conveniences we want and love! And homemade chocolate chip cookies too :-)))

We spent two nights at Bruce House to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a more relaxing and beautiful place. Our second floor room provided beautiful views; church steeples and lights from the town below. It was comfortable and evertything we needed was there. The owner, Pam, remembered every detail of my dietary needs/allergies and served most delicious breakfasts each morning. When we arrived on Friday evening, we were greeted by the 6:00 ringing of the church bells... It was beautiful.

We stayed at Bruce House to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. The Columbia Bruce room was cozy, quiet, and relaxing. Pam provided us with lots of recommendations about what to do and where to eat during our stay. Breakfast was scrumptious and filling! Port wine and cookies also added a nice touch. We hope to make it back at some point to ride on the Allegheny Passage bike trail.

My husband and I are avid cyclists who cycle the US/overseas. We were greeted by the owners worker (sorry, can't remember her name) who helped us park our bikes in the inn's garage. We were grateful that we had a secure and safe place to park our touring bikes. Right away, she offered to do our laundry as she knew we had been cycling the towpath. We had the top floor Monk's room, which is spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast the next morning consisted of fruit, toast, and a baked egg omelette. The owner was warm and friendly. We would definitely recommend this B&B.

We spent 3 nights at Bruce House as we explored Cumberland at Christmas. So nice to come in from the cold to warm up in our delightfully cozy room. Each morning we had a delicious and filling breakfast with creative fruits and eggs and muffins. Pam was a wonderful host. Will definitely recommend to friends and would readily return.

My wife and I were bicycling through town and made reservations at Bruce House for the night.||||After being seriously being turned around and disorientated by the small travelers map , we finally got our bearings worked out -- and yes, of course, we learned we had to climb the steepest hill in town to get to the place -- A little rough after a long bike ride.||||We found the room exceptionally clean and wonderful. No issues at all. Complementary big cookies -- something this biker always encourages in B&Bs -- even a sip or three of port was made available.||||Comfortable, quiet, and a lovely view. I'd recommend a few things: venture out in the evening ... have dinner at a WONDERFUL Italian place in town (and a lovely short walk) -- it was the Ristorante Ottaviani. Go see a play at the local playhouse (one block away)-- it was the Cumberland Theatre. And, for sure, see the THINGS flying around the local lighted church steeple late in the evening. If you know what they are I'd be very interested (BATS? -- yeah, but they appeared to be of South American size, not the little mousey things I'm use to). My guess -- swallow/bat high-breeds caused by some strange radiation leak!!! (jkd)||||THE BREAKFAST -- Cooked upstairs and portaged down to the dinning room (!!!) was excellent. Somehow, the lady that let us in in the evening didn't communicate to the owner we wanted as early breakfast as possible (we had a long -- long ride ahead of us that day) -- we could see the breakfast was going to be late -- we stayed cause I can't pass up Eggs Benedict. We ate with the other non-biker guests at 8:30am and left at 9am -- but with those eggs in our bellys.

LOVED this place! It's converted to an Airbnb now, not a bed and breakfast anymore. It's old, built in 1840, but it's absolutely stunning. The pictures on the Airbnb website do not do it's size justice at all! It's very grand, but comfortable. Highly recommend.
