I really appreciated the proximity of this hotel, and was excited to be so close to the beach. Unfortunately, after a long day of travel, this location had a few hiccups that caused a bit of a feeling of uneasiness.

I got there, was greeted, and then was given a room and a key card. With a room on the first floor (as a woman traveling alone), I was a little taken aback that the window was wide open to the parking lot at 10:30 pm. The room had a faint smell of smoke, probably because it was right next to the parking lot and the window was wide open, but wasn't a big deal once I closed the window and turned on the air.

At around 11:00, my door swung open by 3 other travelers, who had received the incorrect room and key card by the front desk. I was a bit unnerved and felt a bit unsafe by this.

About 5 minutes later, I received a phone call from the desk saying that I was "supposed to be in a different room."

Well... I didn't just choose what room I wanted to sleep in. You gave me the key card and designated the room.

No apology, no concern.

Apart from that, the room was nice. There is no where to get any water on the premises (other than the ice machine) so that was a small pain. A water fountain or any sort of water machine would have been great. Parking was easy and the location was great.

We got a room on a Saturday evening when I called It only took me about four minutes to get a room confirmation. I recommend this hotel because the rooms are always Comfortable and clean, and it is a safe place to stay. Peter, the concierge was very professional and caring. And we feel that he went above and beyond the normal duties of a concierge to make us feel more welcome and safe. when we go back to Encinitas, we will surely stay at the Brisa Pacific.

I needed a room in the area for one night, mostly just to sleep. I’m fussy about hotels and was worried about a place so reasonably priced, but it had great reviews so I took a chance to avoid wasting money. The room far exceeded expectations. They’ve remodeled and fully modernized everything. Lighted mirrors. Great window shades. Excellent lighting features and super comfortable beds. The room was immaculately cleaned and the furniture was stylish. Mini fridge and microwave and coffee pot. The walls were a little thinner than a luxury hotel but it wasn’t an issue, and was the only reminder that I hadn’t paid a lot for my stay. The bathroom is small but super functional and comfortable. Staff was great. Breakfast average, like most continental breakfasts. I will be back for longer stays!

Google Review (2 Stars):

My stay at this hotel was frustrating and disappointing. Upon checking in, I discovered that my showerhead was not working properly. I reported the issue on Saturday, explaining that I had been without a functioning shower head that was upside down and loose and spraying water everywhere-sincerely the previous day when I checked in, which was Friday. Unfortunately, the problem wasn’t addressed until Sunday, midway through the day, meaning I essentially went three days without a proper shower. Despite this major inconvenience, there was no offer of a partial refund or any compensation.

Additionally, I stayed in room 116, which was one of the noisiest hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. Being located on the first floor, it was right by the front door and staircase, with constant foot traffic from people going upstairs. On top of that, noise from the rooms above made restful sleep impossible. It was so frustrating that I left a day early, despite having already paid for the full stay.

When I inquired about switching rooms, I was told I would have to pay a different rate, with no clear guarantee of what kind of room I would get since I booked through a third-party app. For future guests, I highly recommend requesting a second-floor room on the back side of the hotel, away from the train tracks, as those seem to be the quieter options.

While the hotel has undergone some nice upgrades over the years, certain areas still need improvement. Given that it has been family-owned for many years, I was surprised by the lack of attentiveness to these issues. I was assured by an employee that the problem (shower head) would be taken care of, but unfortunately, that was not my experience.

On a positive note, it was finally fixed and yet I was not offered any compensation or anything to me. That’s bad business.

Across the street from this hotel is the most amazing organic farmers market every Sunday. You can get there in one minute because they’ve constructed a new underpass underneath the railroad tracks which is wonderful.

UPDATE 3/24/25
I was just charged the full amount for this stay 445.00—very disappointing. I've been a loyal guest at Brisa for years, and a quick look at my account will confirm that.

The response I received felt like generic fluff with no real accountability or effort to make things right. I expected better—especially from a team that’s seen me return time and again. Your front desk staff assured me my bill would be adjusted, and now I feel misled.

If any Brisa employee or owner were in my position—paying full price after being told otherwise—I doubt they'd simply accept it. Unfortunately, the lack of action here sends a message that 1- and 2-star reviews aren’t a concern to your team.

Truly disappointed.

Such an amazing stay. Clean, quiet, and just a couple minutes walk to the beach and shops. I would have appreciated a couple hangers in the closet but it was a minor inconvenience. Definitely would recommend and will definitely be back if I am in the area.

Great value only blocks to the beach. Stayed here 5 nights while we were remodeling our home nearby. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and recently updated. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was limited, but the price for the accommodation was overall very reasonable. Would stay here again if we needed a comfortable, friendly, well-managed, conveniently located and reasonable place to stay.

We had been on a road trip for 3 weeks when booking a room at Brisa Pacifica. It was a sweet little beach motel within a reasonable walking distance to the beach. Evacuations from the Palisade fire started the day we arrived. Our room had a pink drywall patch where a repair had been made shortly before we arrived. We had a two night stay where we watched the workers of this motel remodel rooms to have ready for the next night and open their doors to the people who needed it. This was a great stay and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a reasonable stay in San Diego Area

I have had the pleasure of staying here several times over the last couple of years, and always look forward to another visit. Staff are unfailingly professional and friendly, and the value is unbeatable. A modest, no frills property with an undeniably chill vibe—and less than a five minute walk to the beach. Highly recommended.
