My husband and I stayed over the weekend to attend a friend's wedding. We absolutely loved our time at Briar Patch B&B, had a fabulous home cooked and balanced breakfast both mornings, and loved walking outdoors on the property grounds. The staff are incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and accommodating! We definitely will come back again in the future!

We couldn’t have picked a better venue for our wedding! Briar patch itself is stunning, with gorgeous views and a beautiful main hall (Gold Fox room) and Patio.
Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the atmosphere. The breakfast served by the hosts was good, and they were really accommodating when we had a last minute request of having only vegetarian food. They also went out of their way to adjust for some of our non traditional requests.

We’ll forever cherish the memories made here!

Briar Patch is beautiful, very quiet, nice place for weddings, and the host was amazing and extremely helpful and kind. Also, Brownie, the four-legged assistant is adorable. Their pillows are the best.. This place is not too far from Washington DC.

The Briar Patch is a cozy, warm stay.
We were fortunate to stay in the Cottage. It is a spacy stand-alone building with a living room, kitchen, full bathroom with separate tub and shower, and bedroom with king bed. It is historic, with low ceilings and an old feel, but that is a significant part of its charm. The bed was comfortable, the rooms were clean, and we had privacy and also easy access to the grounds.
It was a quick walk to the pool and hot tub. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not functional, though the pool being closed made sense - as we travelled in the winter.
The service was honest, straight-forward, and speedy.
The breakfast was delicious! Home-made, well cooked, and tasty. We chatted with the other patrons, who were kind and from all over the country.
Parking is ample.
Access to Middleburg is an easy one turn, 10 mile drive.
We visited Stone Tower Winery, in addition to the three that are immediately adjacent (Cana, 50 West, Greenhill).
We enjoyed dinner at the Red Fox Inn and Tavern, which was pretty great.
We bumped into fellow guests at the shops downtown and enjoyed coffee and pastries.
Definitely recommend if you like comfortable, classic style at a fair rate!

My husband and I just had out wedding here, and it was a fabulous experience. The owners are so kind and very communicative. My family from out of town stayed overnight, and they all loved their comfortable rooms and the delicious breakfast. They also enjoyed the close proximity to Middleburg, and nearby wineries and breweries. It is a beautiful, quite place that is still very close to lots of fun activities. We look forward to staying there again!

We rented out the Briar Patch for our wedding weekend and loved every minute of it. Dan and Ellen helped us every step of the way. It is truly a family run business and they make you feel like you are part of the family. The venue was beautiful, with plenty of space for the guests to spread out. Our rooms were amazing and our guests that stayed over just loved everything about the venue. We would highly suggest this any time. we are looking forward to renting out the venue in 2026 for our family reunion. Can't wait to see Ellen and Dan maybe this summer for an over night as the venue is close to our home!

We loved our stay at the Briar Patch and are strongly considering another stay this fall. We stayed in the Cottage, and it was a perfect wine weekend getaway. The heat worked wonderfully in December, the kitchen was large and well equipped, and the bathtub was wonderful.||It was a cozy but spacious place to curl up in the evenings with a bottle or two of wine after spending the day out and about. There are at least 3 wineries within a 5 minute drive and more than I could count within a 20 minute radius. We were personally able to walk to both 50 West and Chrysallis from Briar Patch, but that may not be for everyone. Middleburg is a short drive down the road.||I only corresponded with the owners over phone and email, since Dan was recovering from surgery, but they were pleasant and helpful in those exchanges. Dan's brother stayed at the property to take care of us during our visit, and he could not have been nicer. We were very happy with the breakfasts he prepared during our stay.

We had a beautiful 4 day stay including private time with our family, Rehearsal Dinner and a Wedding all at one Venue. The Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast is a GEM. Dan & Ellen are wonderful to work with and treat you like family. They are very flexible and work with you to provide a memorable event. The fact that the wedding party and immediate family can stay on the grounds for the entire weekend made it even more special. And we got a delicious breakfast every morning, for the cherry on top. It was also nice to use some of their preferred Vendors. Helga's Caterers had a fabulous staff and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. DJ Randy was phenomenal and kept the party going. I highly recommend this Venue for a wedding or any special occasion.
