I have stayed here a couple times with good experiences both. It is quiet, clean, and rustic. The owner is kind. I don’t think the brewery is operational anymore, but there are bars within walking distance. The hostel is cheap to stay, has wifi, kitchen, etc. Everything one might expect in a hostel.

Love the cozy vibes. Nice spot to post up after a long drive through the mountains. Love Tim's hospitality and his crew was also very helpful when needed. Highly recommend, especially for those traveling far.

Me and my friend stayed here when we went to the mountain bike park at snowshoe. It was not that far of a drive and was in a great little town!
I loved the style of the hostel as they are bunks with a full size kitchen and tons of cookware. The person who managed it was very nice as well. Would highly recommend!

Hopped on my motorcycle and left Richmond that morning, After a beautiful day of twists I was tuckered out. Rain clouds were looming and it was colder then the flatlands. Other lodging in the area looked empty and stale, I found this place on Air BnB and just rolled up. super nice guy Cody gave me a room and a much needed actually very good stout. I had the room all to my self and picked a nice bunk near the window. There was a local metal man with some friendly older fellows who loved to shread getting ready in the kitchen area and they made me feel at home and we drank fireball. Then they played while I tasted other beers. excellent small town experience in the heart of beautiful West Virginia, The room top next was nice to chill on and had a great view of the mountains. Great dinner for breakfast around the corner. 5 stars

Had an amazing time during our stay at the Brewstel. We used it as a home base for a ski trip to Snowshoe and it worked great for our group of 9 to chill during our time off the mountain. Lots of good food in the area and great local beers right downstairs.

This hostel was one of the cleanest and best step-ups that I've been to (definitely in the US). Cubbies under the beds for each bunk (bring a lock), 4 showers (bring a towel), 3 toilets and a urinal. Beds were comfortable, sturdy, and didn't squeak. Good heat and cool kitchen/living room areas.

Best part was our host, Tim, who was super friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back next time in in the area.

If you're going to Elkins, and you don't want to spend a lot of coin, AND you can thrive in the different environment of a bunkhouse-style hostel, then the Brewstel is the place to go. Very friendly staff, clean facilities, comfortable beds, handy location, neighborhood pub next door, reliable wi-fi, what's not to like?||||If you've never stayed in a hostel before, keep this in mind - this is not a hotel. You will be staying in a bunkhouse room with strangers, and with a communal bathroom. You will have to make an effort to be courteous and tolerant. Bring a padlock, an extra pillow and blanket, shower shoes, and a towel. Be quiet coming in, and considerate of your fellow guests. That said, I recommend the Brewstel wholeheartedly.

We didn't check out the hostel but there is an amazing selection of draft beers - 21, the day we were there - and bottled beer. The front of the shop is the beer-making supply area, but keep walking back to the taps and a couple of tables. A small selection of food is also offered for those who don't like to drink on an empty stomach. The owner was friendly and helpful. Apparently there's a rooftop deck that we should have gone up to see but didn't. Good prices. Plus they sell and fill growlers. Great place!

I was traveling to Snowshoe for opening day and rather than pay $150+ per night for a hotel/air-b&b on the mountain, I decided to give Brewstel a shot and am I glad I did. This was my first time staying in a hostel and fully enjoyed the experience. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the bunk room and common areas were clean and had character, and the beer downstairs was amazing. Seeing as I make the trip to board almost every other weekend, with Brewstel being only a 45 minute drive to the mountain, I will certainly be coming back!
