This was my first time staying in a hostel so i wasnt sure what to expect. Manager was really nice when I called him for questions. The night security was very welcoming! The other guests kept to themselves and no weirdos were around. I felt safe in the room. 4/5 stars because of parking. It fills up fast around the area and I had to walk a block and a half AT NIGHT. Room and general area was clean. The price was super affordable. I would definitely come back.

This place was alright until I felt comfortable enough to comment on stuff like the parking system.

No enforcement of their own rules caused me to miss 1 day of work, to come back to the hostel and be told I am banned from the parking for getting upset and complaining.

Mind you, the night before, the security guard (GLEN) asked me what time I was leaving the following morning, I expressed concern about someone parking behind me, which he reassured me he would make sure to put someone leaving the same time I was in that spot.

I woke up in the morning, to find the vehicle I was concerned about parked behind me and was stuck there until just after 11am, when management FINALLY answered their phone, when I needed to leave at 9am, to come back and find out I banned from their parking?

ANYONE who pays for parking here should have a tow truck on speed dial, because they will not help you and will likely ban you for complaining just like they did me.

Their rule being, EVERY vehicle is to have contact information visible on the car so people like myself can reach them on my own to get them to move when need be.

Apparently it is MY responsibility to stay up the whole night to see who ends up parked behind me to make sure they follow the posted rules...?

So, yeah.

THANKS GLEN.

Otherwise, the place is exactly what you would expect for $30 a night.

Basic run down rooms with low quality wiggly bunk beds, cleaning that comes whenever they want?, could be everyday, could be every few days, food / filth / flies everywhere in the common areas cause this place is loaded with smokers and riff raff that couldn't be bothered to pick up after themselves.

100% NOT for a person who is clean, collected, has a purpose / direction in life (job / school / etc) to save some money.

DO NOT be here for more than a few days.

I stayed here for all of the one hour it took for me to find a new place. Unsanitary, and frankly unsafe. The place was disgusting and many of the private places such as bathrooms didn't even have locks. There is no source of amenities such as toilet paper or soap, and the place reeked of dirt and weed.

Stained paper signs are everywhere with major arbitrary rules with the threat of losing your bed if they were not followed to a T.

There was genuine fear for me as a queer person with my queer partner to even acknowledge our relationship for fear of the men's already intimidating and uncomfortable looks to turn us into targets.

Whole place was dirty, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming. Do not waste even 30 dollars here as you'll just spend it looking for somewhere else anyway.

Rooms were not well kept as it depends on who is in your room at the time. However, new beds were clean and comfortable. Our request for 5 of us to share a room was denied and we were split up at check-in without prior notice. Other guests cursed at us and outside residents were loud and always loitering near the entrance. Overall presence did not feel safe. The inside kitchen was nice and there were two fridges (both filled to the brim with guests' personal stuff) and a small TV area with a couch which was a spacious community space. I think it depends on personal comfort and preference, but cheap is cheap. We left early and re-booked at a Marriott Hotel.

This is the cheapest hostel in L.A. for a reason. My friend booked it for us with the idea of saving money but it is 100% not worth it. Our Uber driver pulled up and asked if we were really staying here, then told us that if we end up going out later to not go out alone.

We were met at the front by a group of dudes who said the manager was out back in a garage, we walked around and found him in an open garage with a bunch of folding chairs and tables covered with junk food and papers taped to a wall with a zelle code on it. He had us sign wavers/release forms/whatever and we went up to the room. There were literally holes cut into the dry wall to expose wiring/piping and the entire building was generally dirty. The room had 3 of the cheapest bunk best known to man. They shifted around when climbing up and the beds themselves were trash. We spent less than 20 minutes there, and that was just so we could find and book a different room somewhere. Walked out, caught a bus, and 20 minutes later we were in drastically better area for like $30 more than what we paid here.

Seriously, don't waste your money. Chances are you'll just have to spend more on a better place anyway.

This is a hostel so prettiness is not expected, it is cheap for a reason so let us keep that clear when reviewing.

However, our reservation was wrong (females only instead of coed) and the guard was rude about it expecting us to solve their mistake. When he (guard) finally took us to see the manager, it got even more weird. The manager was not only rude but unapproachable and he had trouble communicating, not sure if this is because he is an angry human being or lacks scholarly training.

When we finally were given the correct space to sleep, we were warned about making noise only to not be able to sleep because of all the noise other guests were making, ALL night long. Most people at the hostel seem local and sleep during the day. Admin should ALSO warn them about making noise instead of making it an ordinance only for tourists.
Watch out for parking but again, this is LA.

The manager, however, was the worst!

Don’t stay there, especially when you’re alone. The area doesn’t seem safe at all. The management was super unprofessional and the whole hostel was super dirty. The beds in the rooms were fine and I liked that our room had its own bathroom but it wasn’t clean and the shower didn’t work properly. We had to use a tool to start the shower but the water only came out of the wall so there was no chance to shower. No towels were provided and the kitchen was an absolute mess without any utensil. There was a pile of used pots and dishes in the sink and still in the evening no one seemed to care about cleaning them up. We had to eat out of a pot (which we had to clean beforehand) because there weren’t any plates. The coach was full with crumbles and stains and at night people were playing load music.
I would not stay again.

very small rooms. My 7 by 7 foot room had 6 beds. Beds are unstable. With every movement they stagger .... There is no air conditioning. Not even toilet paper!! No spoons, no cups, no plates! A shame. !
and this rooming house charged me 26 dollars per night! cheaper to sleep in the car!
