Fantastic saloon, and you have to try Naomi‘s Yukon old fashioned!

Hated is too strong of a word. But, seriously, men's restrooms with clogged or unusable urinals which contributes to the dank atmosphere. Sketchy service at times. Seemingly irritable regulars.

However, they have a regular card game and, plenty of room at the back. The 'attitude' of the main bar seems to leave the card players alone. That's where I'd prefer to sit and drink.

It's a fun place. The funny thing is that it has not changed much in the 31 years. Maybe i am getting old...lol. Faces and names change but the good things stay the same...
Customer service is fantastic as long as it is not too busy...wink...
Live bands from time to time make it even more fun...

Spent most of a week snowed in Nome, shuttling between a bar stool at the Board of Trade saloon and the Polar Cub Inn, early spring of '78, as I recall. The spring of the year before, some poor old gentleman thawed out of a snowbank along that very same route. Seems he came out of the BOT well antifreezed against the cold A bit too well antifreezed since he passed out in a snowbank before reaching his destination. It was snowing something terrible that night and soon the poor fellow was covered up and frozen to death (not antifreezed quite well enough?). He remained missing until he thawed out of the snowbank the next spring! At least this is the story the old timers at the BOT were fond of telling me (21year old kid) as I staggered out each nite,

The "BOT" brings back some great memories I had there in the late 70's and early 80's. Glad to see it's still alive and kicking for feature generations of "partygoers".
