Stayed here for a few days to relax and reset. This was my first time staying at a cute, little bed & breakfast at the recommendation of my in-laws and I was very impressed. This place sits on a quiet but nice lookout over Dana Point beach. Breakfast is served in the morning - where I had the best bacon in my life (seriously, try it). I also loved that they served cheese, crackers, cookies, tartlets and wine in the afternoon. My only issue was that the rooms are not soundproof to the noise outside. Both nights I stayed here, you could very much hear the loud riffraff that was going on in the main room, even after supposed quiet hours after 10pm. You can also hear the doors slam when people enter/leave their rooms. The carpet in our room was also a bit stained. Bathroom is huge, bed is comfy, staff is nice.

Loved our stay. The views were stunning, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and both the breakfast and wine reception food were delicious. It’s a short, flat walk to many restaurants in the Lantern District (Truly Pizza was awesome). Walking to Baby Beach or the harbor below the inn will require a long, steep walk back up. We walked from the Blue Lantern along the Dana Point Preserve, stopping at the nature center, then continuing all the way to Young’s Beach Shack for a late lunch before walking back to the Blue Lantern. It was about 5 miles round trip and well worth it for the views. We will definitely be returning to the Blue Lantern.

Excellent location overlooking the wharf. Located in a safe area, great parking, restaurants and shopping nearby. Very clean eating area, delicious breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Wonderful place to stay. I'll definitely be back to stay again.

Nice boutique hotel... comfortable well appointed rooms, helpful and friendly staff, perfectly satisfying breakfast and happy hour, but the views, the views are spectacular. We were here for just 2 nights and we were very happy with the arrangement... lots of good restaurants and bars within walking distance.

We celebrated our anniversary weekend at this hotel. The hotel was clean plenty of parking. Our room was nice in the wine hour in the front of the Inn was nice. We had a wonderful view of Dana point Harbor from our patio. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, and the staff at the front desk were super friendly, engaging, and helped us during our stay. We loved our stay and we can’t wait to stay here again.

The best thing about this inn is the location, it’s fabulous with spectacular views! Otherwise, I’m struggling to understand the rave reviews. The room was expensive at $500 plus a night. The decor is dated, like old chain hotel furniture in our room, our sheets are pilled and towels scratchy. The bed has seen some years and is very mushy. The whole place could use a renovation, because it feels quite dated. My room was clean, but I was expecting more for the price. The breakfast and afternoon happy hour are nice and most staff were welcoming and accommodating. My room was off the main lobby so I could hear talking at all hours, so it did not make for a relaxing trip. I wanted to love it here but sadly did not.

Friendly staff. Great location walking distance to nice restaurants. Delicious breakfast with many choices of breakfast items and egg dishes. Happy hour was enjoyable with cheese selection and other appetizers. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and great views.

Our room was beautiful and spacious, with two tvs and a sitting area with a |view of the harbor. The sitting area is in a large rotunda with tall ceilings and architectural details.|We enjoyed the breakfasts and wine and appetizers and cookies at happy hour.|The inn is in a perfect location within walking distance to restaurants.
