Wonderful experience. Everything is close in King Salmon so location is great. We loved sitting out on the dock having a glass of wine after our dinners. Amanda, who cooked all our meals for us, was incredible - and we are self-proclaimed food snobs. I have to say the food was a highlight. Patricia and her staff go above and beyond. There are some ongoing projects that are going to step it up even more. Would recommend Blue Fly to anyone!

Patricia, Jenny and others I met while staying at the Blue Fly in July were all extremely nice, sociable folk and were always quick to assist whenever asked. It wasn't unusual for them to shuttle me to various island restaurants 🙂 |The bedroom was clean and adequately equipped. The bed was comfortable and the view out the back was great. The bathroom was clean and modern with a very nice shower. |Breakfasts were homemade and tasty with super-locally-sourced (backyard!) eggs and various vegetables. |Though I didn't take a fishing excursion with Patricia, a ranger at Katmai had very positive comments about how she conducted herself and her operation on the water. |I will stay there again when I plan my next trip to Katmai and would recommend this BB for anyone looking to stay on King Salmon!

Blue Fly B&B and their guides were wonderfully attentive, knowledgeable, and provided us with the best vacation we have ever had. Not everyone in our group fished, but Patricia set up other amazing experiences, including a trip to Katmai National Park to watch bears feed on salmon, canoeing, and paddleboarding. Patricia took my daughters paddleboarding while we relaxed and ate amazing food cooked by Erna. Patricia also taught my daughters (ages 6 and 10) to fish and inspired them to want to continue to be anglers. The B&B looked like it was recently completed renovated, beautiful, and comfortable. I can not recommend Blue Fly more!

This wonderful accommodation in King Salmon is conveniently located, and very well maintained. Patricia is the owner and lead guide. She is one of those people you imagine might be found in Alaska, and yet doubt you would be fortunate enough to ever meet. She did a superb job making guests comfortable, guiding us and addressing our interests and needs. She arranged a run out to Brooks Falls for me and another guest with Robbie, who proved a patient and very proficient guide. Patricia also allowed us the use of a vehicle to explore the old fishing village of Naknek. I see why she has guests who come back year after year. I cannot recommend this lodging highly enough!

My son, age 9, and I were booked at the Blue Fly B&B for our 4 days and 3 nights in King Salmon, Alaska (yep, that is the name of the city). I booked this trip with Chris Klosterman with Trygg Air Alaska (he pilots a float plane and makes arrangements). We were expecting to stay elsewhere and, before arriving, after learning of the change of locations, I was a tad disappointed. Within hours of arriving, my attitude was "so GLAD we couldn't get in that other place and so glad we are at the Blue Fly!" The service was amazing, particularly the home-cooked breakfasts and packed lunches by the most caring and talented chef, Ms. Tanya! Getting around the area was made a breeze by the availability of what turned out to be a "car service" with the most patient and service oriented people. There are places in King Salmon, AK, far more expensive and that tout "high-end" accommodations, food and liquor. Didn't stay at one of those places, but I cannot imagine the experience and fun would have been any better than at the Blue Fly. Because Patricia was booked up (hey, she's in demand), Justin Crump with FrigateTravel dot com took my son and me fishing and we pulled in what would have been a derby-winning 38 lbs. King Salmon! Chris@TryggAir dot com, put us in Blue Fly and we are so happy that he did. Chris flew us to Brooks Falls (brown bears, salmon jumping the falls) and to Cape Grieg in Bristol Bay for a "jaunt" over 1.6 miles of tundra to view walruses up close and also "hooked" us up with Justin. Chris, Patricia, Justin, Tanya, Brandy, and Jenny CARED that my son and I were having a good (and safe) time! If considering Blue Fly and Patricia, Frigate Adventure Travel and Justin or Trygg Air Alaska and Chris, you won't be disappointed - in fact, you will be very glad you found them. Our trip was July 17 to July 20 (the rest of the week was in Anchorage). I would have written earlier, but jet-lag and work kept me from writing sooner!

I stayed at the Blue Fly B&B during my first visit to Alaska when I decided to see the Bears in Brooks Falls. This place is really the best. It's situated near the airport in King Salmon with a beautiful view to the river. The hospitality makes you feel as if you are at your own home. You get delicious homemade breakfast and lunchbox for these who are having different day activities. I would like to prescribe this place as perfect! I will definitely come back!

My adult son and I joined our cousin at the Blue Fly for a week. We had no part of the planning and no expectations only hoping we wouldn't be disappointed. Having stayed at some of the most exclusive fishing lodges in both Argentina and Chile Patagonia I knew this would be different. It was, it was better.||||The accommodations were large, well appointed and comfortable, our two bedroom was a spacious two floor cabin with a full kitchen, bar b q and tv.. The view was an unobstructed view of Naknek river with gardens of greens, herbs and a chicken coop providing very fresh eggs for breakfast. The breakfasts were varied and expertly prepared, a gourmet treat down to fresh baked muffins, banana bread and cookies.||||We used Patty Edel, the owner and licensed guide for all our fishing, Even though the river was very high and fast, we still managed to catch enough fish to leave us with sore arms and wide smiles. We caught Coho, Silver, sockeye and pink salmon on both spinning gear and fly rods. I caught trout on fly rods with the biggest being 29 inch rainbow that still leaves me speechless. (All trout are catch and release). The salmon provided us dinner whenever we wanted (often) and fillets that Blue Fly vacuum packed and froze for the long trip home (New England). All arrived safely and frozen and are being consumed on a continuous basis, we estimate we had at least 70 lbs.||||Patty arranged a fly-out for one day's adventure to Brooks Park, part of Katmai N.P. This was a great day of sockeye and trout fishing. However, the highlight was being "up close and personal" with the vast number of brown grizzly bears in their habitat. We quickly learned how to respect the bears and stay safe. Even though we were comfortable, we still were constantly vigilant.||||I have ambivalent feelings about writing this review. On one hand it was a fabulous week, reasonably priced and far exceeding all our expectations, on the other hand, if it is discovered, my return visit may have to work around the plans of many fisherman. I recommend the Blue Fly B and B and guide service without hesitation.

Came here with my fiance and his family recently. I was brand new to fly fishing and Blue fly was exceptionally patient and helpful. By the end of my time there I was actually catching fish! We got to see some amazing places that were very sparsly populated. The B&B itself was super cute. The beds were comfy and the rooms spacious. ||Also, amazing breakfasts.
