I have eaten there 3 times and each time it is wonderful. Their cooks are consistent at pulling forth the best flavors from their ingredients. And the servers are great at handling large groups of rowdy kids and conflicting instructions and splitting checks. Extra salute to them.

Atmosphere is nothing to write about, it is a standard restaurant. But the food and the service makes the place amazing.

We ended up here after chatting with a Salinas local, who told us despite dozens of taco joints there, she goes up to Castroville to this place.

Easy to see why. Clean, comfortable dining room, friendly and attentive staff, and safe parking.

Handmade tortillas are a benchmark of their menu. Although you have to pay a little extra for them, their perfectly light, fluffy texture is worth it.

We tried quesabirria, asada, pastor, pollo, and cabeza tacos. All were great, especially the cabeza. I don't believe the pastor is trumpo roasted and was spicier than expected but still good.

In general, their dishes highlight the flavor of good meat, instead of burying marginal quality in spices like so many restaurants. If you want to ramp up the heat the house red sauce will certainly get you there, but the tomatillo sauce has nicer flavor.

Overall, this might not be the most instagrammy spot around, but it is excellent, authentic food in a comfortable setting.

Took our picky mom out for breakfast and she loved it! She ordered the Machaca and my husband ordered Birria chilaquiles. Our sever was absolutely the best. Very attentive and sweet. The hostess with the bleached blonde hair that sat us at our table wasnt so nice. No smile and very short with answers and looked bothered. No stars taken away because the restaurant has no control of their employee attitude, and if it works for them fine. Lol I will just not sit at her table. Disgruntled employees have nothing to do with the wonderful food.

Authentic Mexican food. Very good, reasonable prices. Best Mexican food ever. I'm a real customer. It's a bit noisy, the music needs to be lower. I had too speak Spanish. Be careful with ordering. I paid for twice the food I ordered. The waitresses had difficulty understanding me. So make sure on your order they understand what you'rer ordering. Great food and nice service other than the language issues.

Got our seat and food fast. The food would get 5 stars. But the Service was horrible. We ordered Salsa and chips and never got it. Got our tacos fast but after that we were completely ignored.
