We loved our stay. Incredible sunset in the most gorgeous hot tub and a beautiful sunrise viewed right from bed. The hosts were generous with some delicious granola and ice cold lemon water when we arrived. We definitely recommend staying!

I can't say enough positive things about Birdsong! My husband and I spent 2 (too short!) nights in the Kestrel Casita after 5 days of hiking in/around Tucson. We were seeking someplace immersed in nature, but not far from other cities and places along our road trip (Tucson, Bisbee). Next time, we'll stay a week! The 35+ acre property is perched on a hill offering vistas in every direction of rolling, ocean-like hills and mountains. You just never want to close your eyes, not even at night when the sky is so full of stars we never see in our urban environment out East. Robin put so much thought and care into the design and decor of every interior and exterior space her guests can enjoy, from homemade granola, fresh farm eggs and lemon water to chairs scattered around offering the best sunset and sunrise views or birdwatching in the garden. The casita has a fully-stocked kitchen, dining room, amazing leather couch and comfy beds with ambient lighting and Sonos sound, plus great wifi.

The giant hot tub is a true show-stopper and we soaked into the sunset, all alone, on both of our two nights, just amazed by the views and the beauty of this retreat Robin has created. There's also the option to workout in the gym, do yoga and, of course, run and walk on the roads leading to and from Birdsong.

Trust me, you will not want to leave! Patagonia is above 4,000 ft, too, so even in the summer it is much cooler than Tucson or Phoenix, so you don't need to visit just in the winter months like us from the east coast;)

We didn't want to leave Birdsong much given our short stay, but did have time to enjoy the Paton Center for Hummingbirds, a walk on the trails of Sonoita Creek Preserve and a lovely Mexican lunch in the border town of Nogales, just 15 minutes away. We also took a look at Patagonia Lake (very close to Birdsong), where we'll rent kayaks on our next trip! And on our drive from Tucson we stopped at Empire Ranch, an old cattle ranch open to the public (free) set in the Las Cienegas National Park (endless grasslands), where lots of Westerns were filmed - you can see why! There's a lovely little trail to walk on and they've recreated the interior spaces of the ranch, also open to visitors.

What a perfect place to start the new year! Thank you, Robin!

Birdsong is a gemstone in the desert!! Gorgeous location. Perfectly situated hot tub for watching the sunset over the mts. Wonderfully appointed casitas - comfortable, well-stocked kitchen, extra blankets for star-gazing. Easy access to Patagonia town and hiking. Just perfect!

I held a weekend-long women's retreat at Birdsong this weekend. It was a perfect location, with fantastic amenities (pool, hot tub, lovely grounds to walk-- and more). What a wonderful setting for getting personal growth work done and enjoying free time to appreciate the beauty of the area. I definitely plan to hold other retreats at Birdsong! Robin and Morgan are amazing hosts! (I'll add photos once I have an opportunity to go through them!)

Our 2-night stay was perfect. Kestrel cottage is charming; exactly as pictured. We found a generous supply of healthful provisions, a well-appointed full kitchen, comfortable beds and linens, and items for quality solo or family time. Exceptionally quiet and peaceful rural retreat (full dark at night). The views are spectacular with seating placed for experiencing this beautiful, unique area.

I highly recommend a visit during the โ€˜monsoonโ€™ (mildly rainy) season (typically July-August). The growth of lush green is indescribable with an abundance of birds and wildlife. It is very warm outside in the mid-afternoon, but the cottageโ€™s cooling options kept us comfortable and temps were very pleasant at night and in the morning.

It is easy to find, prepared for self check-in, with good access to the host but completely private. We came for the excellent birding and nature experiences and were very impressed. We also shopped, ate, and tasted through the Sonoita-Patagonia area. Good experiences everywhere. We were delighted to meet Robin and share our highlights before we departed. Hope to return in December and again in spring.

Incredible! Such a gem of a place. Loved the jacuzzi, the landscape and views. Very comfortable in the Kestrel. Had whole property by ourselves Nov. weekdays. Would come again without a doubt.

We found the BirdSong Desert retreat by pure luck when we searched for locations around Patagonia Lake. We wanted to avoid the chaos of going north and opted to go south. Best bet we ever made. First of all, you will feel SO welcome. We booked the Kestrel Cottage, and it was gorgeous. I regretted not bringing more food to prepare because it had a full kitchen and some staples. By the way, you'll go bonkers for the granola. I brought two extra bags home! The property, the pool and spa, the labyrinth, the cool eco shower... SO much to explore! I had an assignment to submit and had fast Wi-Fi and was able to get some work done. But you won't want to. You'll want to go for a beautiful walk, swim, bask in the massive hot tub, sit outside under the stars (check out my crazy pic of the Milky Way I took from one of the Adirondack chairs!), and chat with the awesome owners if they are around. It was so quiet, so serene and so perfect that I still can't stop thinking of it. In fact, the day before we had to come back to the heat, I booked the Hummingbird Casita for the Labor Day weekend to check out the area and get some more R&R. It's perfect and a little slice of heaven. You'll be looking to book your next stay before you even leave.
