We were really surprised with this hotel. I honestly wasn't sure when we booked, but it definitely went beyond my initial thoughts in a very positive way.
Pros
- Very clean and comfortable retro rooms.
- Valet car parking
- Swimming Pool
- Close to plenty of restaurants all within a 15-minute walk. One restaurant called Swingers is right next door.
- Coffee maker, fridge, and microwave
- Welcoming front desk.
- From my point of view, the area around the hotel seems safe.

Cons
Well, there aren't any really, other than coffee, and tea isn't restocked daily in the room. And possibly certain aspects could do with an update to bring it to a modern standard.

In general it's a very good hotel and we would certainly recommend it if you're looking for a low cost but a good place to stay while in LA/Hollywood.

I had a great 3 night stay at the Beverly Laurel Motor Hotel a week ago.
The staff were all great and the room was good, full of character.

Great location and so walkable to so many things nearby like The Grove, Farmers Market and the Motion Picture Museum,

Nice hotel overall I'm giving it three stars however because there was a hidden fee on top of my booking fee that they decided to waive because the elevator was not working. Hidden fees are a major downside in my opinion. Room quality was a nice retro style but I'd expect a better room for the price range and they kept the music on the pool until 10:15PM or so which is a little late for my taste. Valet parking made me feel slightly bothered by the insistence of keeping the key of my car at all times.

Loved every second of our stay at the Beverly Laurel. My boyfriend and I love to stay at quirky fun motels, but when you are working with a budget this can be difficult, the beverly laurel was a great price with everything we were looking for. Beautiful room over looking the pool, the elevator being broken wasn't a problem at all, we loved the extra views going up the stairs.
Every staff member we met was kind and inviting, and loved the valet service. Our room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was amazing.
The location was also great! Close to numerous restaurants and bars, and a cute laundromat across the way where we were able to do laundry. Also central to bus stops!
I will be recommending the Beverly Laurel to others and will definitely be coming back!

The good: The service was really good and we felt very welcome, the location, rooms are big and spacey, nice complementary shampoo and conditioner, free valet parking for up to one car. Hotel is pretty and well kept.

The bad: The WiFi is literally terrible and unusable. Definitely avoid this place if you have to get some work done. The room carpet is disgustingly filthy.

Positive: Parking is free just Valet tip. I got there at 2am so I had me park under in valet. Staff was awesome & went above and beyond. I stayed for 9 days. The gym diagonal from the hotel is $25 for 24 hour pass. Diner next foor Negative: It?s very noisy. The diner bangs the garbage at 3am which echoed due to shape of hotel. They shld not allow their cleaners to start until checkout as I had to endure vacuuming at 7am next door. No laundry& elevator is broken.

The Beverly Laurel holds a special spot in my heart. I have been staying here since the mid 1990s ... with a long break from LA between 2012 and 2025. I was resigned to the thought that the place would have changed beyond recognition, but the vibe and the staff and the ambiance is still intact…feels like coming home. Man this place has got that legendary motor lodge energy forever. Like David Lynch said: LA feels like freedom, and this is giving that feeling. I love it! And plus you have Swingers which is like preserved in time in the best way , see my review of Swingers (the prices are getting crazy lol but that's everywhere.) thanks guys, thank you

Updated 2024.12.14 A retro grade motel that has seen better days, a bit on the expensive side, complimentary valet parking. The elevator wasn't running, the heated outdoor pool wasn't warm.

There's a doorless shower was is a very nice touch, but the shower control has a replacement screw sticking out holding the handle from falling off. The phone in the room has extremely static noise when you pick up the line. The room gets warm quickly during the day and cools off quickly during the night so it's not well insulated. There's an extra full blanket folded in half for extra warmth if needed.

They staff is short handed and daily room service isn't provided unless requested upfront. A mini fridge, microwave, safe, TV are provided. Carpeted floor, would prefer floor laminate.
