We walked in and it was busy for the holiday weekend but staff was super friendly and sat us shortly after we walked in. It's an older place but a true gem and the food is GREAT. My husband and I are visiting from out of town and read the reviews so decided to stop by and it did not disappoint! The biscuit and sausage gravy is heavenly. The pancakes were bigger than my husband's head. You will leave here full. All of this was only $24, a steal to us! If we visit Sheperdstown again we will be back!

It was my first visit and I was so pleased. I had coffee and the hometown breakfast with sausage. I splurged to get the sausage gravy on my home fries and it was delicious. I’m always a little nervous to try gravy outside the South but Betty’s can do no wrong here. Bonus: they have the mixed fruit jelly tubs! Coffee was fresh and hot. Service was attentive despite being at full-house capacity. They’re making stuff to order so don’t plan to get in and out too quickly. But they brought my order in a reasonable amount of time and left the ticket so I didn’t have to ask for it.

There are some steps to get in, and it’s cash only with an ATM inside.

I look forward to bringing my out-of-town friends in when they visit!

We were visiting my wife’s uncle who is the catholic priest here in Shepardstown and he recommended this place for breakfast. We were so glad he did because this place was amazing. We loved the old school diner feel and the waitresses and staff were so nice and friendly! They gave our little ones crayons to draw on and had a high chair waiting for us without even asking. The food was delicious as we about had one of everything and the prices were cheap as you were gonna get. Highly recommend eating here and will definitely be back next time we visit!

We came for breakfast. My husband had told pur server when he was ready to order he would put his menu down so they wouldn't have to keep checking. But she came back anyway before he was ready and we felt very rushed to order like it was an inconvenience for her to give us more time. My husband had a Blueberry pancake and a plain one with chipped beef gravy and a sausage patty. I got Blueberry pancakes and a Sausage patty. The sausage is fresh and cokes from a local butcher so it was pretty good. Bland and lean but not the fake meat you usually get. We were very disappointed in the pancakes though. The batter they use has no flavor. The blueberries were good but the pancakes themselves, not so much. We got a cup of milk with our meal and it was going sour. It just didn't taste right. We were really looking forward to coming here and were honestly let down. Especially for the prices.

Fantastic lunch at Betty's restaurant! Super cute and casual dining 🙂 We had a great simple meal. We sat outside at one of two tables and had a great experience with the server and food. We even used the bathroom inside. The home fries were delicious and the pancakes were awesome. I loved how fresh the fruit was for my girlfriends waffles 🧇 😋 it was delicious and refreshing. My hats off to the chef 👨‍🍳 🙌 👌
My one feedback is that it was a little bit expensive for a small spot especially with the smaller portion sizes so maybe they could help the price reflect that?

Strolled in here with my party of three and Cara and the crew were super attentive and friendly. She spoiled me(I had forgotten my southern life what small town and southern hospitality was like)with southern hospitality and politeness. She came back and checked on my party, always refilling our beverages. She gave us ample time to decide and order. I’ll definitely be back again. Thanks a bunch Betty’s restaurant crew!!

The best breakfast around, The staff work very hard and it does not go unnoticed by us here in town. It is Cash Only. Seating can be scarce at times because it’s so good people bust down the doors. The food is much better than chain restaurants and I would much rather spend my money here.

Sooo, delicious! The sausage gravy is HIGHLY recommended. The servings are ample and served hot and fresh. I really like that the neat is locally sourced. Get the sausage patty - it tastes amazing!
