The coffee is absolutely amazing. I went for the first time today and got the iced hazelnut divinity. It was so good! It is pretty pricey, so this won't be my go-to coffee shop, but it is excellent for when I want to treat myself. The employees were all very kind and helpful. The atmosphere is very cute but it feels a bit cramped. Will definitely be coming again!

Edit: I went today to get the iced peppermint white mocha. It was absolutely delicious but most of the candy canes sank to the bottom and wouldn't mix in. I don't mind this, I think it creates a nice visual, but it is something to keep in mind.

I’ve gone here before and the service is always whatever. Never had a day where I was like oh they were super nice! I asked for a cold brew with foam today SUPER SIMPLE right? I get I came 15min before closing but giving me iced coffee instead of cold brew is insane. I asked for it to be re made and I heard them say just put it in another cup with ice. I’m addition this was my second time today coming here. I loved the cold brew I had earlier and wanted another fix but the workers humiliated me and my bf and told us that’s just how it is and when we left they both started laughing. Then the workers wonder why nobody tips them. As a fellow barista this is not how we are supposed to do things. I know my coffee and what they did was not okay.

Stopped by here a couple of days ago for the first time ever. I have never experienced customer service at any coffee shop the way I did here today. The young lady assisting me with my order was named Rachel I believe. The coffee was excellent. The ambiance was great and the service was absolutely perfect! I’m looking forward to my next visit!!! Thank you so very much Rachel for your attention to detail. Better Buzz is extremely lucky to have an employee such as yourself.

earlier today i came in with my husband and it's a very wonderful establishment! the workers are very welcoming and kind too- it was our first time here and one of the workers named sarah with the black pigtails helped us out and gave us very tasty drink recommendations. she was very efficient as well and we didn't wait too long at all for the beverages, unlike other cafes that we've visited where they forget our order or mess it up. great service !

Excellent coffee, yummy bakery items. Many locations. I've been to the Better Buzz in Hillcrest and this one in La Mesa. Very nice and friendly employees.

My bread wasn't toasted and dry, and I found a long hair on top of my almond butter toast. I usually love better buzz but come on you can do better than that. I wanted to leave my feedback in the app but I didnt see an option to do so.

Prioritizing quantity over quality.

I’ve been going to better buzz for about 3 years now (mostly the PB locations) but when I saw this location open up, I was super excited because of how close it was to state.

Since they’re a new location I can understand the extremely long lines but the drinks their serving is unacceptable in my opinion, especially when considering it’s $7+ at times for one coffee. Almost every time I go to this location my coffee has a load of power at the bottom they didn’t take the time to stir. The powder stirs easier when the hot espresso initially touches it but if you get an iced drink… forget about it, you’re gonna be drinking a coffee with lumps of flavoring. Why is it that this isn’t a problem at any of the other locations I go to (Hillcrest/PB/ La Jolla).
Otherwise, the atmosphere inside is really nice and it’s a great place to study. Staff is usually really nice as well.
