The location was right off I77, very convenient, with easy on and off access to the highway. The property, while dated was clean and comfortable, There was an excellent Outback Steakhouse sharing the same parking lot and did a lot to enhance our experience. Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall a good location to stop. We would stay again.

Mandy was working the desk when we arrived. She welcomed us with a warm smile and thanked us for being a Diamond Member. As she was checking us in, she noticed we could get a lower nightly rate so she switched our reservation. She offered us bottled water as well and directed us to the cookies and mints that were available. Mandy also let us know that we would get a 10% discount at the restaurant next door by mentioning that we are staying at the Best Western. That evening, she called our room to see if there was anything she could do for us and to make sure our room was satisfactory. (A very nice touch). In the morning, there was a paper receipt slid under our door. Mandy and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be. This is something that is very rare at most of the Best Westerns we have stayed at.|The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We were only in transit for 1 evening but our experience was better than expected for basic needs. All staff members were friendly, welcoming and accommodating from the moment we walked in. "Mandy," assistant general manager, was on evening duty and was very helpful with any extra needs we had. Breakfast was very adequate and replenished as needed.

I was traveling home from a work conference and needed a place to stay. Didn't get to the hotel until after 8:30 pm. Front parking lot was full and I had had someone look up reviews online. Had planned to stay at another chain, but hadn't had good luck with them on this same trip so I decided on the Best Western since they were rated high on Trip Advisor. ||I should have kept driving. ||Checked in - the front desk woman was friendly, but had been vacuuming when I arrived then brought in my luggage and simply left the vacuum in the middle of the floor so you had to be careful walking around it. There were a couple loud dogs, passing through, but the hotel has no control over that. ||I had a choice between 2 queens and a king and I opted for the king room. I think it should be required when checking in to let people know that it's a connecting room. Had I known that, I would have asked for another room. When I parked and got out, there was broken pottery at the edge of the space. ||Elevator wasn't that clean. Got to my room and it was also a handicapped room. The room was okay. Bathroom wasn't that clean and was run down. ||I just wanted to take a shower and go to bed after a long day, but that wasn't possible since there was NO HOT WATER! I fiddled with the shower handle thinking that maybe it was backwards, but the faucet didn't have hot water either. I thought maybe it had been depleted because of the people in the hotel so I gave it an hour. Still no hot water. I gave up and went to bed thinking I would shower in the morning. ||Got up early, still no hot water. ||I rode the elevator with a couple people on the way to breakfast and asked them if they had hot water. They replied yes, then asked if I was on an upper floor as they had heard from other guests that the upper floors didn't have hot water. ||The front desk had to have known that there was no hot water when they rented me the room the night before. They didn't notify anyone, no apology, no compensation, nothing. When I went to turn my keys in, there was no one at the front desk (another pet peeve of mine in the morning), so I tossed my keys and got out of there.

I was moving my daughter to Ohio and she is the best Western member so we stayed here. We got two rooms. The first room the toilet didn’t flush and we got to move rooms. The second room had issues with the toilet, but we did not move because we had sedated the dog When we arrived at the hotel. Our card had already been charged and I questioned why. I wanted to pay cash and was never told when I made the reservations that they didn’t accept cash. I was told to speak with the manager in the morning when I went downstairs. The front desk young lady told me my card was charged, then reversed then charged again. I was not happy about this. I explained all my issues with checking in the manager got me on the phone and stated that one of our rooms would be taken off the bill one room was $146.08 and the second room was $177.88. After all the chargers and reverses, I was finally charged $153.30 which doesn’t even equal the amount of any one of those rooms. The breakfast was good. The staff was OK. The maintenance man was very nice. Our bathroom door creeped so loud when he went to the bathroom at night it woke the next bed up! When you took a shower in room 417 the shower curtain apparently wasn’t long enough and the floor flooded. Had to clean it up with a towel. The hallway actually smell kinda like sewer maybe hence why both bathrooms didn’t work. I was in hotel management and you never charge anybody’s card prior to them checking in. I was told by the manager that someone was training that night, but still, they were trained to obviously the wrong way. The two women that check to us in or place in the blame on a Tiffany who took my reservation. Well, Tiffany took the reservation and neglected to tell me they don’t accept cash when I told her I was gonna pay cash. but Tiffany wasn’t the one that charged our cards and messed it up. So there was a hold placed on my card by my credit card company which I needed to use this card on the trip to move my daughter to Ohio thank goodness I had someone else with me who could help I am very, very upset about this and I feel both rooms should’ve been comped. I don’t usually complain at hotels, cause I know stuff happens, but this was a circus show.

This hotel is a solid value in Beckley. We were greeted by friendly staff and had a well-equipped CLEAN room. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable so we slept well. We stay at this Best Western + on many of our trips to see family. The breakfast buffet had a number of choices as well. We will continue to make this a stop on road trips.

Check in was pleasant. I left my keys at the counter when I went to the room and realized about 10 minutes later and went back to the desk to see them sitting at the counter. I kind of wondered why I didn’t get a call up to my room and why leave them on counter for anyone to pick up? Easy push of the horn button and there goes my car! The women at the counter was in the back room when I saw the keys and when I picked them up she laughed as she heard the jingle. The room had been upgraded and the furnishings were nice. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were good. The upgrading stopped at the bathroom which had chipped tiles and peeling bathtub. The shower curtain was too short and we ended up soaking the bathroom floor and into tiles entryway. The towel I used to mop up the water came away with black. More attention to floor mopping. Breakfast had lots of choices and was in a large room.

I really do not understand negative reviews, at least based on my experience.
The hotel is old, and minor things are to be expected in aged building. It is not a destination but it is a very fine place to spend a night or two traveling through the area. The staff is beautifully kind and caring! Breakfast was appropriate and nice , both hot and cold items. Also, there are coffee machines in the rooms.
Location is excellent, just off of hwy but far enough for a very quiet sleep.
Parking lot , both front and back is well lit and well maintained. I rarely write reviews, but was compelled to write this one, because of all negative ones out there.when I read them , I was compelled to cancel my stay, and am very glad that I did not!
