When I registered the girl at the front desk was not very friendly. She gave me wrong directions to getting to my room. When I finally found my room I found a strong smoke odor. I requested a smoke free room due to allergies. When I returned to front desk she was not accommodating. She said she could not help me. I asked if I could get my money back to go somewhere else I was told there were no room changes and no refunds. I was told I could talk to supervisor the next day. The room was VERY CLEAN.. it just smelled horrible. The towels were clean but stained. The hotel was VERY OUTDATED! It was well lit. I needed extra lenins at midnight... but not welcomed too kindly by the night front desk man. I will never come to this hotel again! For the price i Paid there are SEVERAL NICER HOTELS IN THE SAME AREA.... by staying in this hotel with the smoke smell I now have a doctor's appt .

Best Western Columbus perfectly suited my needs in the Piney Hills of Mississippi. I was attending a conference at nearby Mississippi State University in Starkville. Although there were other hotel brands that were closer to MSU, I chose to drive an extra 30 mintures the morning of the conference so that I may stay at a Best Western. My family is very loyal to the Best Western brand and the Columbus location did not disappoint. The hotel's lobby was spacious and clean. Michelle was courteous and efficient during check in. My room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable with ample pillows. Breakfast was hot, tasty, and plentiful. The hotel is located near many restaurants, stores, and historic attractions. I would recommend this hotel to families, business travelers and couples who were looking for a weekend get-away.

For an unexplained reason Expedia canceled our reservation. We had our confirmation number but there were no vacancies in the “regular” rooms. The very helpful receptionist provided us with a two room suite (202) at the regular room rate. Then she personally prepared the pullout bed in our room. We appreciate her efforts and will return. We suggest eating at the adjacent, Jackson Square Grille. The Best Western complimentary breakfast is very good with bacon, eggs, cereals, biscuits and gravy.

Friendly staff. Good breakfast (biscuits, gravy, turkey sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, waffles, cereals, fruits). Our room (109) was okay.

Cable box mounted to the back of the TV . . . Basically had to stand next to it to change the channels. Bathroom needed some work (torn shower curtain, paint peeling above shower and bottom of tub).

The room was also very humid to the point that my ball cap was actually wet when I woke up. Florida native here, so I'm no stranger to humidity, but I was a bit excessive .

Clean property, saw the staff outside in the AM sweeping the property.

Tldr: Decent budget hotel with a nice breakfast and decent location.

This place is awful. Stayed two hours and left. Biker creeps were sitting blocking the steps smoking. My door did not seal their smoke wafted in and got on my clothes. Could hear fools yapping loud through the walls. Couldn’t get out if there fast enough. Bikers sat on the steps blocking egress. The place is a hell hole.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Front desk that checked us in was great. She said she had been there 27 years. The pool was "open" but you have to reserve a 1 hour timeslot to use it. This was never mentioned until we went to take our daughter to the pool and was denied access and told they had an opening at 10 am the morning we were to check out.

Positive: "" Negative: This hotel is older and reflects some wear-and-tear, especially on the exterior. We did not like the rooms opening to an exterior sidewalk. We would prefer an interior hallway.
