I really like my experience living here! The bay view room on the second floor has the best view of the Bay Area! It also has a microwave, free tea and coffee, and tables for meals. The guest room is small but cozy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay! The overall environment is nice and quiet, with some animals around the area. Would like to come back again!!

The guest house is an excellent location. The rooms are clean, modern and very nice for the three star tier they fit in. The view of the Bay from the guest house is excellent and it is one of of the most secure locations to protect your vehicle that you will find because of the lab security and their vetting of who can enter the lab property.

The guest house doesn't have a pool or a spa but it has other things that make up for those amenities

What I like most about the rooms is the provision of a dining table, cooking utensils, and dining ware.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I especially appreciated the service, kindness and friendliness of Camberk, Lana, and Nathan.

Great stay! Beautiful location with deer and wild turkeys and the best view in all of Berkeley! Check in attendant was lovely and the Berkeley bus runs frequently. Even the walk up and down the hill isn’t bad. Highly recommend!

Naithen was the gentleman who helped us get our room he went above and beyond to help us to get a room we liked the service was fantastic. We stayed four days ….,4 wonderful days for my sister‘s graduation on the way leaving this awesome place our Uber ride could not find the address and lady who was at the counter took my phone and talk to the Uber directed her to the door to pick us up ,because she told us early in the morning if you cancel your Uber you never gonna get another one fast enough to be on time and she was absolutely right since we had reserved the Uber from a night before for that early in the morning if she wouldn’t have helped us ,we would have missed our flight ,She really went above and beyond to make sure we will not miss our flight. What a wonderful job she did ..,What a wonderful staff bravo ,…the manager who is managing this place also is doing amazing job with the staff ..,everything was outstanding. Every staff felt like this is their own family business and they treated us like one bravo.👌

Owner of the best view in the entire bay area. Went for work. Rooms are economical and functional. Many guest houses on national labs are antiques from the 90s but Berkeley does some renos to stay current. The water pressure is a little low and if there is a concert at the Greek you'll hear it but the view is excellent. Staff is generally very helpful.

Being able to stay on campus for the National Lab is extremely convenient. I wish their prices or a little bit lower and more comfortable to some of the hotels in town since this is a service for users of the instrumentation here at the National Lab. Always friendly service, rooms could be a little updated.

Update: it has been over a year since I stayed here last and nothing has changed. My previous comments still stand.

It's a synchrotron guest house, not a Grand Hyatt -- you're here for business and this is convenient and a good value. Only complaints are not enough options for food (bring groceries if you have a weekend beamtime unless you rented a car!) And the rooms can get a little stuffy/hot with two people, could use more ventilation.

Great staff who knew the area and were extremely friendly and helpful. If you can get in this is the place to stay for visitors to the lab. Couldn't be more convenient for meetings on site. Comfortable and not expensive. The views over the bay are outstanding and can't be praised highly enough. The only downside is that you do need to drive, or Uber, if you want a decent meal in the evening.
