This place is awesome. My husband said it was the best brisket he’s had since Texas. I loved the pull pork the tri-tip the rib all of it. Awesome barbecue sauce fantastic. Mac salad fun place check it out. We’ll be going back for sure.

There is a huge selection of menu items. I had the brisket plate with Mac and Cheese and greens. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Worth the drive for sure! Pulled pork was amazing and the chili beans were top tier!

Bernard's place Absolutely reflects Fresno's slogan, both in business and comunity service. Neighborly rivals every other bbq place in town. A generationally developed culinary experience made right here in Fresno.

The food was good, but I got more of the sides than the meat. I ordered brisket and got about a handful of meat. I would go back, but I can't justify spending $29 dollars for such a small amount of meat. It was just enough to make a sandwich.
Maybe the ribs would have been a better choice.
Also, let me add the price was also with the peach cobbler.

I do understand as a small business owner you need to make money, and weighing the meat is how you insure you make margin off product.
Giving smaller amounts of the side dish would help, as the portions for that far out weighed the meat by a lot. As for my appetite, no I'm not big and I don't eat a lot, that being said yes I was expecting a larger portion based on what I'm used to getting from other restaurants..

Highly recommend! BBQ was just out of this world!!! And it was one of those rare places in CA there we had great lunch and didn’t spent a fortune for our meal. As for the service: it was great! The lady at the counter was very patient and helped us a lot when we couldn’t make our choice. Big thanks to the staff and the owner!

This is an absolute delicious BBQ place. I haven't had BBQ since being here and I am definitely coming back to this one. The tri tip nachos was amazing with their homemade BBQ sauce. And the cornbread is soft and amazing. And this is coming from a southern soul. Next time I'm coming here I'm trying the violin on fire burrito. Check this place out!

This was better BBQ than I had the entire week I spenk in Texas looking for good BBQ. Everything was tender, juicy, moist, and smokey. The brisket and ribs in particular just melted. Some of the best I've ever had. The sauce is good too. I have to go back and try the other two types they offer. Only had the original which is a little thin, but not watery. A nice sweetnes with a hint of something distinct that my girlfriend said reminds her of Christmas.

The service and pricepoint werr also very good. I believe it was the owner who took my order, and he was very friendly. $35 for 5 meats, 2 sides and a drink. I think next time Im just gonna get a couple pounds of brisket.

This place is bbq kingdom. Everything from the brisket to the chicken or the vegetable burger is top tier! My favorite burrito is the violin on fire bc the jalepeno bombs are so good. The nachos are huge and taste amazing. The bbq sauce is a yummy sweet and tangy flavor. And the people behind this place are just even more awesome.
