We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Bear Valley Cottage! It is within walking distance to the Point Reyes Visitor's Center and nearby trails, a few quick minutes drive to fabulous restaurants, and close to gorgeous Limantour Beach. The accommodations are cozy, comfortable, welcoming, well designed and felt like home! For the beach area, the cottage's weekend rates for four adults were very reasonable. The owners were kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

We spent one night at Bear Valley Inn at wish it would have been longer! There is so much to see and do in the area and the B&B is a cosy and relaxing place to stay to enjoy it all! ||||We stayed in the Poppy room, which is the room with the bathroom across the hall but we didn't mind at all. The bathroom was huge, had a bathtub and wonderful products. Both rooms were nicely decorated and had a homely feel. ||||We were lucky to meet the other two lovely couples who stayed there, and had a long nice chat together downstairs in the evening over some port wine. The breakfast was nice, but as some already have mentioned, not very filling. The house really is wonderful, well located in Olema with only a minute walk to the lovely local restaurants and bar.|||| If we come back to the area, which I really hope we do, I would gladly stay at the Bear Valley Inn again!

What a great place! My wife and I stayed two nights on a recent cycling trip. The B&B itself was clean and comfortable; the beautiful rustic gardens offered inviting outdoor space to relax, enjoy a glass of wine, etc. Location was close to local dining, Point Reyes National Park, and Point Reyes town center. Owners Ken and Amanda (avid cyclists) were very helpful and offered great recommendations for local activities during our stay. Highly recommend this quaint B&B to cyclists and non-cyclists looking for a restful escape!

This is one of the most pleasant places I've taken a room. The room itself was perfect -- a comfortable bed with plenty of room to stash stuff, prepare for going out, etc. Particularly beautiful with sunshine streaming through the windows in the pm; and, in the morning, the sunshine streamed in through the bathroom window, across the hall and into my room. Before leaving, I had the delightful breakfast that was prepared and laid out on the dining table downstairs. Nothing fancy -- delicious granola or muesli, home made yogurt and the like. Delicious coffee. I loved it.

We absolutely loved our 2 night stay in Hummingbird Cottage and would definitely recommend it as a great place to stay if you want to visit the Point Reyes Seashore Area.||||The Cottage was more than spacious for our family of 4. We found that the beds were very comfortable and could not hear the road noise at all. Plus we loved the fact that we were frequently visited by hummingbirds just outside the kitchen window!!||||The owners are really lovely. We had some slight issues working out how to turn on the bed lights and they replied almost instantly to our email. Ken was over within the hour and not only fixed the problem but gave us some great trips about good hiking trails and places to eat nearby.||||The breakfast offerings were also great. The light options of muesli, cereal and homemade yoghurt were perfect to get us going in the morning before a day of hiking.||||The only drawback of the cottage is the fact that there is only one sink (shared for kitchen and bathroom). We self catered for one of the nights and we did find washing up a tad difficult as there was not much space.||||Overall Hummingbird Cottage is a great base for seeing the surrounding area.

We've stayed here a few times and were never disappointed. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, the rooms are charming and very clean, and the breakfasts are excellent. This place is walking distance from "downtown" Olema, and only a 5 minute drive from Point Reyes station. Will definitely be staying here next time I come back to Point Reyes.

My favourite place to stay in my slow travel through Marin! Everything is thoughtfully placed for the traveller. On arrival you can help yourself to cold water, coffee, or choose. From an an abundance of beautiful organic teas or port or other wines. The living area is prettily decorated & set up with games, books & newspapers & is comfortable with a gas fire. || The Tides room was a delight - took me a bit to work out how to turn on the shower, as not familiar with that type, but got there in the end. A teeny tip would be to have some instructions for folks from abroad 🙂 ||The gardens are picturesque- I was fortunate to visit at the time of year when the flowers were blooming.||A very short walk to the 2 local restaurants, store and the 'Uncommon Mercantile' shop which is fun to look at. ||The breakfast was perfect for me, as what I would prefer to eat anyway & a bonus that everything was local & organic. Best fresh squeezed orange juice ever tasted.||Was travelling on my own but if I get an opportunity to come back to California the Bear Valley Inn is the place I would insist on revisiting with my partner.

Amanda has done a loving job of restoring this old house. The location is quiet and close driving distance to Point Reyes. I got a good night's sleep. ||Sorry, I can't call what was offered as "breakfast." Nice fruit and home made yogurt, decent coffee (not available until 7:30). The 'granola was nearly raw oats and nuts...no oil or honey...and chewy to the point of inedible. That was all that was offered. The only other guest headed out with out 'breakfast'...he had been there already. This may be a premium location, but I thought the $170 for one person for one night for a small, upstairs room was excessive.
