Our family rented the entire Inn for the celebration of our dad's 80th birthday, which included non-staying birthday party guests also. Jill, the Manager, was awesome in every way. She took care of us on many levels, fixing us wonderful breakfasts, helping to coordinate a cocktail/video showing one night and assisting us with the main event the next day, which included 30+ guests. She was taking photos, decorating, cleaning, etc., etc. We couldn't have asked for a better environment or a better host for our celebratory weekend. My husband and I stayed in the Ra Paula room, which was very nice and we had a wonderful deck overlooking the garden. We will be staying at Bear Creek Inn every time we go through Merced now 🙂

I am from Merced and was in the area to visit my mom who lives at an assisted living facility on M. Street, which is right down the street from the Bear Creek Inn. I always admired this house when I was growing up. It is a beautiful mansion that has gorgeous grounds and used to have a huge swimming pool that has since been filled in. The location was ideal and the cottage was perfect for our family which included myself, two adult daughters and my husband. The cottage has a cute little kitchen and a really nice sized bedroom. The living room was large enough for us to all gather. The breakfast in the morning was great and the employees could not have been nicer. I will defiantly stay here again. So much better than staying in a hotel!

We spent our one night at the Bear Creek Inn on our way to Yosemite National Park. The room was very comfortable, with a nice sitting area. The one downside in the case of our room was that the shower was not very good, with an uneven spray coming from the shower head. We were greeted upon our arrival with a glass of wine, which was much appreciated, though I’m not sure that is typically the case. I can’t comment on the breakfast, as we had to leave early the next morning to get to Yosemite before it became to crowded. Still, this was a nice B&B and I would stay there again if given the opportunity.

My husband and I spent a restful weekend here during a very difficult time for our family. We stayed in the cottage and enjoyed the respite. The gardens are a lovely oasis in the middle of farm country. Breakfast in the main house was elegant and warm. We spent a leisurely couple of hours in the sun room as well. Step back in time to an Amercan version of Downtown Abby without all the intrigue!

Such a charming place! Jill is so friendly and attentive. She makes you feel like family. The breakfast in the morning was my favorite part-being able to meet new people and share stories during breakfast was awesome! This is the only place I will stay next time I’m in the area!!

We needed an overnight stop in between San Francisco and the great sequoias and by chance chose the Bear Creek Inn and what a find!|On arrival the façade is very impressive and the interior does nothing to diminish the opinion. The manager and the staff were lovely and helpful and breakfast the following morning was excellent and very kindly timed to fit around our departure....and the homemade pancakes were gorgeous.|The rooms were very comfortable and the whole house just had so much character that it was very refreshing after big city hotels and inns. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Our stay at the Bear Creek Inn was definitely a winner. We will definitely return whenever we are in the area and there is a room available. The reservation process was seamless, the innkeeper was an amazing lady, so helpful and friendly, the breakfast chef was a wonderful girl and the food was well prepared. The grounds around the Inn are landscaped beautifully. There is a large park within walking distance where clear walking paths are available. There are also restaurants close by.

On 6/13/16 my new wife and I got married here and also stayed here the first night we were married it was the best!! The service we received from Jill was the Absolute BEST! she was very helpful, breakfast VERY DELICIOUS and prepared in Perfect Home Cooking Style. The Ru Paula room we paid for was perfect because it had a: electric fireplace, King size comfy bed, Balcony sitting area, roughly 8ft x 8ft bathroom w/ women's makeup vanity, comfy couch, TV, free WiFi and a fold up roll away bed if needed for small children. The location and grounds are extremely great for all styles of photos and very reasonable if you just wanted to take pictures. Excellent for a Wedding ceremony staff was very helpful when we needed to cleanup flower pedals due to wind picking up. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone planning any formal event or just wanting to have a nice relaxing weekend or single night stay at one of Merced's Best Bed and Breakfast.
