Beach Terrace is a wonderful family friendly hotel! The location is amazing. The beach isn’t the sandiest beach but it was still a wonderful time. We saw dolphins swimming outside our patio each morning. The petite breakfast is more than enough and delicious. The pillow and coffee options put the best finishing touches. We loved the poncho robes, the in room slippers, and the all around excellent service. We enjoyed every minute here.

We absolutely loved it here. We had an ocean front room with no issues at all, tons of pillow options, and coffee makers. The petite breakfast was very well done. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. The only thing I was caught off guard by (and it is not a big deal at all!) was the beach isn’t sandy most of the time. It changes based on the ocean but mostly it’s a very rocky beach. It didn’t affect our time on the beach in any way, I was just surprised. The staff are helpful and welcoming. We will be back!

It’s rare to find a hotel that is very very nice- fantastic rooms, location, service AND kids are not just tolerated but celebrated. So many thoughtful signals that kids are welcome, yet it’s not over run with kids. Such a sweet balance. Breakfasts were delicious AND enjoyed by my picky kids. Huge kudos, and I will be singing praises to anyone who travels to the area.

Perfect in every way! The rooms are huge and well designed, everything has been thought of for your comfort. There's a large closet with plenty of hangers, a steamer and umbrellas in case you need them. There are ample drawers for your clothes and other things, plenty of outlets to charge your devices. The enormous bathroom with double sinks has enough counter space, a shelf underneath, more hooks than you can possibly need to hang towels, etc., as well as a cushioned bench to stash things on, with even more space on a shelf underneath. ||The windows have screens so you can leave them open to enjoy the air and the sounds of the crashing surf. We have rarely slept better. ||You can request the type of coffee maker you prefer, and the room also has a kettle for making tea or, if you choose, pour over coffee. Sugar and packaged creamer is provided, as well as a cork screw. ||We stayed four nights, and the breakfast provided each morning was slightly different. There was always a pastry of some kind: chocolate croissant, almond croissant, scone or Danish. There was always fresh ripe fruit and yogurt. There was also some kind of breakfast sandwich on foccacia. Management must have taken note of another reviewer's complaint about coffee not being provided in the breakfast room: now it is provided, even though you can make your own coffee in your room. One morning the breakfast spread also included iced lattes. No juice, but flavored waters instead. Everything was delicious. ||We checked out Scrabble from the games library to play in our room on a rainy afternoon. ||And the view! Just spectacular. Our favorite perch was on the loungers at the pool level, protected from the wind by the glass panels around the pool. Because it was March and still a bit chilly, we enjoyed the fire pits and the Mexican blankets provided on the loungers. ||This is a extremely well kept property. Someone was always tending to the common areas making sure everything was pristine. ||Beach Terrace is now the standard of perfection against which I will measure other hotels.

Service here is amazing. I love we can text them random questions at random times and they answer! Views are incredible. Service is too notch! The beach valet was fantastic. The front desk was so helpful. We can’t wait to come back.

The whole experience was outstanding. The location is perfect, right on the beach and not far from a large number of restaurants and shops. The amenities are splendid, especially the fire pits around the pool. We have never felt so chilled and relaxed at a hotel, looking out on the ocean and magnificent sunsets. The breakfast was exceptionally good, thanks in large to the delightful chef, Dan. We will definitely return.

11/10 service, GORGEOUS room, A++ staff. Could not have had a better, cleaner, more luxurious experience. The view from my balcony was jaw-dropping. Service was immaculate - the pillow options was a very nice touch and made a huge difference in my sleep. Plus, the sound of the waves lulled me to sleep and greeted me in the morning with their welcoming sparkle pouring in from the window. Beach Terrace was all I could have hoped for and more.

Most amazing hotel! Came to celebrate my son’s 7th birthday and the whole family loved it. Clean, well kept, amazing proximity to all of the best parts of Carlsbad. We lived in Carlsbad for years and always wanted to have a stay at Beach Terrace. Couldn’t recommend it enough. We loved our stay so much that before I left, I booked us for another night in the coming months to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Can’t wait to be back!!
