Such a lovely little gem in the middle of Tahoe City! Very convenient located to everything you need. Their staff is so warm and welcoming. Beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. The lobby has a great fire place and lots of games. The rooms are cozy and super clean. Loved it here!! 5 stars

Third time staying here -- each has been great. Had the bunk room with 2 sons ages 11 and 18. Great set up, and the lobby fireplace room is super cozy. Had beers and popcorn every night here. My 11 year old enjoyed the room and popcorn and had a hot chocolate. Chill staff and interesting guest experience. Great experience for the $ paid and a nice change to over the top Tahoe area lodges. I've also stayed at the one in Boulder -- same thing. Love them and will continue to visit.

Excellent spot In Tahoe City (15 minutes to Alpine Meadows) with unique atmosphere and solid attention to detail in terms of presentation. Comfortable beds in a cozy room. Really nice lounge/reception area and 3 different fire pits on charming patios. Super nice and helpful staff (shout out to Casey)! Couldn’t have expected much more. Very cool vibe.

Our ski group rented many of the rooms at this Basecamp hotel for 2 nights. Basecamp has the feel of a minimalist hotel. Pipes for towel racks and the toilet paper holder. Some rooms had tents that you slept under in your room. You have almost everything you need. The heater worked great. The shower was wonderful. The TV and Internet worked flawlessly. There is a coffee maker for powdered coffee in the rooms. But some things are missing. My room had a refrigerator, but the microwave is located in the common area, and The C.A. was far from my room (118). There was also a toaster and coffee machine in the common area. However, most of us left for the ski areas around 7:30 a.m. and the common area did not open until 8 a.m. So although one of our party brought some bagels they could not toast them because they couldn't get access to the common area prior to leaving in the morning. Bottom line, they don't have 24 hour staff here. They are good about texting you giving you a welcome to the hotel, etc. It appears that for after hours arrival they give you a code to a small lockbox where you will find the key to your room. The common area room is quite large, has a table in it and was perfect for our group to have a pizza party one night and snacks another night. There is a Starbucks directly across the street as well as a Safeway and CVC drugstore. We would stay there again, but just a few improvements would be nice!

This place is perfect when you need to rest your head but not totally break the bank in Tahoe City. Clean and modern, nice lobby to socialize in with beers on tap, and great location. Walking distance to grocery store, Tahoe bike path, Tahoe City bars and restaurants. Really loved the full bottle shampoo and body wash and the cool Tahoe tapestry on the wall over the bed. Downsides are only one car per room parking, and they could be a bit more attentive with icy walkways/parking lot. Overall a great place and I will definitely stay here again.

My third visit and I wouldn’t stay anyplace else. Summer and the two awesome guys that run the operation are the very best!! Super friendly and helpful and great to chat with!! They actually really care for their guests and it’s a super homey locals vibe. The beds are very comfy and loved hanging out by the fire!! Thanks Basecamp and see you again this summer.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay here again. Everyone was so nice and I loved that I was able to bring my dog.
The room was super clean, and I loved hanging out at the fire pit in the evening and have s’mores.
Casey up in the front was super friendly and even let us know where to take my dog for a good hike. I would definitely recommend you check this hotel out.

The lobby receptionists were awesome! Very friendly, kind and helpful. The location was super, we walked everywhere and it was a quick drive to go skiing at Squaw. We enjoyed the lobby tables to play games and the HH beers. We will be back!
