Our family of six stayed at Barmon's from September 13-18, 2018.

It's a beautiful, secluded home in a gated community on Harstine Island. The house is surrounded by lush vegetation and trees. The outside area is quiet and tranquil. We were taken by the stillness; usually only the breeze and an occasional bird call.

The house is well kept. Downstairs are two bedrooms, kitchen, and living area. Upstairs is the master bedroom and a den/play area. Multiple TVs and lots of DVD movies on hand to watch. There are two full bathrooms and one 1/2 bathroom. Good water pressure for bathing. The beds are OK; we slept comfortably.

Our family especially enjoyed breakfast. I would scramble up some eggs and biscuits, and we would eat while watching deer foraging right outside the big bay windows surrounding the dining area. The kitchen has all the pots and pans and cutlery you could want, as well as a coffee pot, R/O water, toaster, etc.

You can hike some fabulous trails right from the front door. There is a beach and waterway with some outstanding views maybe 100 yards from the house; easy to walk to. If you like to read, the house is well stocked with books of all kinds. There are probably a dozen bicycles in the garage to use, as well as an inflatable boat, and tennis rackets.

There is adequate wi-fi at the house for your tablets and laptops. Using our cell phones was a bit of a challenge. We were able to text, but voice calls had to go over voIP.

There aren't many three bedroom houses to rent in this area. This one has to be at or near the top of the list. If you want a break from the chaos, Barmon's is a very good place to recharge. I would easily stay there again.

This is not a cabin in the woods. It's more like a designer home from street of dreams on an island. You can tell the owner built it with love, paying attention to every detail. All the comforts of home and then some. 3 days is not enough, like I just got there then we had to leave... the days went by so fast, so much to do and explore, especially sunbathing on the beach or the hot tub while watching the kids swim in the pool. Didn't get around to playing tennis. Yes, they have tennis rackets & balls at no extra cost. Also, there was an inflatable boat, various bikes for the whole family and exercise equipment, again at no extra cost. There's something for everyone. Next time, I'm bringing extended family and anyone I can get. Big house that can accommodate a large crowd with real furniture and beds, not a futon or cot like other places. Oh, and we'll take their 7 days package. Great place! Definitely coming back.
