I stayed here for my birthday. I took a very early flight so I arrived here in the morning. The front desk gentleman was very kind and had a room ready for me to check in. I was just planning to drop off my stuff until my room was ready but he made it so easy. The restaurant on site is delicious. I highly recommend. Just having all the lounge chairs and the water right in front of you is so relaxing. I came here on my own but I saw many families enjoying the property. I walked down to Belmont park area and mission beach. Not a far walk. Rooms do go for over 200 but def worth it! It has older furniture but everything was clean. And you very rarely find a microwave in a room and the marina suite had it with a small kitchen.

Overall great service, clean rooms, a beautiful and secure resort. The pool is great if you have small children. The rescued seals were a fun addition when getting coffee from the airstream trailer every morning. There were a few broken items in the room, but not enough to impact our stay. The glass was thin and we can hear conversation at the ground level at night. Bring a sound machine or phone app when sleeping to cancel out. Prices for food and drink at the resort (restaurants, room service, pool) were high enough for us to plan to eat elsewhere. We stocked up on a few groceries at a near by Target. We had a small fridge and freezer in the room so it worked great. Overall great stay. Would recommend to others.

Did not try the food, but service and atmosphere was great. We booked through Vrbo for a room on a last minute trip, not really expecting a lot. Any room would have been nice. When we arrived, we got upgraded to a bay room, which granted us access to the beach right outside the sliding door. Scavenger hunt was fun for the kids and gave us some good exercise. Walking distance to Mission Beach, Belmont park, good food to eat (shrimp cocktail/micheladas at Ceviches & Beers), the park. We had a great time. Cruise is only on Sunday, 3-6pm, which we would have liked to do but have to leave before then. Everything was clean, our neighbors were loud and kept slamming the door but that's no fault to the resort. Just kinda annoying that they were loud/discourteous and we could hear them through the walls.

Iβve been visiting the Bahia since I was a high schooler in the mid β70βs skateboarding around their parking lot and enjoying the boardwalk, sailing in Mission Bay, and Belmont Park (especially the roller coaster, which has only claimed a few lives since it was built π). Seriously though, this place is magic. Whatever you want from your San Diego experience, take it from someone who grew up there and visits all the time for family and friends. Their management is excellent. Stefan is an amazing general manager, and he will probably email you personally prior to your visit. The rest of the staff is also amazing. The grounds, options for water sports, the seals on property, bay-front and beachfront exploring, other great dining and on-site activities, you name it, this historic hotel, which has had a number of upgrades and remodels over the years, always feels like home.

My wife remembered this place fondly from her childhood and from the pictures online, I was really excited to experience it for myself. To say I was disappointed when confronted with reality is an understatement. For $500 a night, I was expecting a lot more than brutalist style buildings from the 70s, faded carpets, dilapidated beach furniture, the scent of booze mixed with the sickly sweet smell of old vomit everywhere, and outdoor courtyard areas that aren't even as enchanting as our old condo complex out in Pomona. My wife was equally disappointed that the place she had such nostalgia for didn't live up to the memory.
That said, the hotel restaurant has a decent menu. The gift shop has the best selection I've ever seen in a hotel. I liked that the room they put us in had a kitchenette and an outdoor patio. This is why I give it three stars instead of two.
Unfortunately, it just wasn't the relaxing, pampered experience we had hoped. I would have preferred to stay at other hotels in the area that have similar amenities, better views, and half the price.

After experiencing so many challenges booking through a 3rd-party site, I decided to contact the hotel directly to re-book my family's stay at the Bahia resort. We live in a day and age where GOOD customer support is becoming non-existent. I was so happy and relieved that Jowelyn in reservations assisted me. She was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and communicative about the resorts amenities, rooms, and had a great answer for any question or concern that I threw at her. I found her decorum to be calm and patient, which is extremely helpful. The support was so good that I wanted to take a moment to commend her and the reservation team for all their assistance. I can't wait to stay here!

Beautiful Resort! Very Well kept from the clean grounds to the clean rooms and everything in-between!! Every staff member you encounter is friendly with a smile, and I am totally not exaggerating!! From the manager down to their latest new hire, they were very happy to assist in any way!! Rebooked for one night and decided to stay for a second and they were very accommodating! Definitely plan to stay there again, we visit San Diego about once a year and have stayed many places, but this Will definitely be a repeat!!

We really enjoyed our stay - our room was spacious and clean and had a great view of the boats in the bay. We loved the seals and watching them get fed! Every member of the staff we encountered were really friendly and helpful. Loved the bath products provided - definitely going to try to buy some! All in all a great experience - would definitely stay again.
