We have been frequenting this restaurant for years as one of the best Persian restaurants in OC. The ambiance is nice and service is excellent. It is located in the second floor next to a middle eastern grocery store so you can do shopping or walk around after the meal.

We ordered two eggplant dips to begin with. One with more yogurt and the other with more chill and a bit smoky. Both are excellent choices for the naans (two plates of hot naans were served per table). Each of us ordered different kabobs. I previously tried their lamb shank (excellent BTW), so I went for Chicken Soltani. There are two skewers of kabab, one with ground marinated chicken that is packed with herb flavors and melts in your mouth (like beef koobideh). The other kabab is chicken chunks which has more texture but still very trendy and juicy. We substitute rice with salad and grilled tomatoes, which is a much healthy choice and will not put you to sleep after me, as the portion is HUGE.

We followed the entree with Persian saffron ice cream with a bit pistachio and sugary faloodeh noodle.

Overall excellent dining experience and we will for sure tk come back many more times.

LA is known for its Iranian restaurants that some parts are called Little Tehran. Hence it is no wonder to find Iranian cuisine. Bahar is one of them. Little if any of ambiance but I don’t expected the food to be better. Portions are huge.

Outstanding food but a bit expensive and service is good; however, the booths are a bit nasty as there is old, splattering of food and/beverages on the walls. The whole places is in need of a little TLC.

Delicious authentic Persian food accompanied with an excellent service. The food portions are huge and prices are decent, so you get a lot of food for your buck!
We asked to sit by the window and enjoyed the view of the hills. There is a Persian market attached to the restaurant that you can go check out after/before your meal!

Decent but Nothing Special – Bahar Restaurant

Bahar Restaurant in Mission offers Persian cuisine, but the food was just ordinary. While the portions were generous, the flavors didn’t stand out, and the dishes lacked the richness and authenticity I was hoping for. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly memorable either.

The service was average—staff was polite but not very attentive. The restaurant itself had a simple setup, which was fine, but the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming.

If you're craving Persian food, it’s an okay option, but there are definitely better places for a more flavorful and authentic experience.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in San Diego!! Special shoutout to Yahir for what has to be the best service I’ve ever received. He handled a difficult situation with charisma and professionalism, and he honestly turned my entire day around. Highly recommend for both the food and the outstanding service.

We ordered the lamb kebab, and the stew with okra. They were tasty. It wasn’t the best Persian I’ve had, but it satisfies the craving. Shirazi salad and Olivier salad for starters were good. I would def give it another shot. I would say the ambience was a bit too dark. I didn’t love the hard rice but my wife did.

The okra dish felt like it could have been a bit thicker. The lamb was solid.
