Staff was super friendly. Everything smelt nice, great presentation. Convenient amenities. Gym was bare bone but fit our needs. Quick and easy checkin/checkout. Would definitely stay again!

Nice little hotel for an inexpensive price. Everything was clean and the room was HUGE! I booked 3rd party and the front desk ladies did not receive the booking. They were sweet, but told me it could take up to an hour. After an hour I had to call the 3rd party service and cancel my reservation. I'd recommend booking in advance with a reputable 3rd party for better prices - Agoda.com had inconvenient customer service.

Unfortunately, this hotel missed the rooms and was very dated and cold both in temperature and decor. Though I asked for additional towels and pillows , which the resort confirmed, yet they did not provide upon my arrival and we had to ask, then late in the evening we realized that there was no bedding for the pull-out couch. The front desk staff and the breakfast staff were not very friendly, and I personally believe that this should not be listed as a spa resort. Though I love the location, I will not be back.

I don't mind paying $448 for a 2 night stay at a nice hotel. But I do mind when they make the same mistake on 2 separate visits and don't take the time to rectify the issue.

It's a small thing. Their detergent dispenser for the laundry room doesn't work. Big deal, right? It didn't work last time either. It's been 6 weeks since my last visit, and it's still broke.

In addition, they don't keep detergent at the front desk for patrons to purchase. Then they ask you to go to their "sister" property next door because surely their dispenser should work, but it doesn't. And their sister property doesn't keep detergent at the front desk either.

I know I'm whining 😒 about such a small thing. But seriously, when you get to your hotel, shower, clean up, then find out you have to make a 5 mile trip to get detergent, it's pretty darn irritating.

Especially when the solution is so simple. Buy a 100 count package of tide pods from Target, Walmart, or Costco for $20 bucks, then give your guests who want to do their laundry a single 25 cent tide pod to do their laundry. It will save your guest from making a 5 mile round trip after they have settled into their room. And, it will keep the hotel from getting a bad review

We had quite a pleasant stay at Ayres Hotel & Spa Mission Viejo with their friendly and helpful staff; clean, very spacious, and comfortable room; hotel is located in a safe and quiet part of town; plenty of free parking; acceptable free breakfast; and, we got a very good rate. If there's a minus, our bed was too firm, which isn't our liking. But, that's just a matter of preference. Overall, it was a great stay.

Had a hotel block where we reserved about 35 rooms for mine and my wife’s wedding. Checkin was supposed to be at 3:00pm, when we asked if early checkin was available they just said no and didn’t even attempt to accommodate me and my wife. Rooms weren’t even ready at 3:00pm and caused about 20 guests to miss our 4:00pm ceremony that was 10 minutes away. My wife and I then had to check in around 11:00pm on our wedding night.

We reserved Old Camp (the hotel bar) for our afterparty until 1:00am; the bartender seemed to be in a very bad mood and was not pleasant to guests.

Did we have a great time this weekend? Absolutely, it was incredible, but it was not because of the hotel staff. Our guests were all troopers for still being positive after terrible customer service. Hopefully the hotel can learn for this in the future.

The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool/hot tub is pretty and lovely views. Unfortunately, we could not stay for our whole reservation (5 days) as there was an issue with ants in our room. We requested to move rooms but the hotel was at capacity so we could not be accommodated. We chose to check out after 1 night instead of dealing with the room being sprayed/treated and breathing in toxic fumes. The team here was easy to work with, promptly issuing a refund. Ants are a common issue in this area and absolutely not the fault of the hotel, however, it might be best to make sure this is checked and addressed when cleaning rooms prior to guest's check in. The breakfast was decent, not great, not terrible. The location is in a nice area but is a bit out of the way and not very walkable. Overall, this would have been a lovely stay had there been no ants in our room....a lot of ants.
