Incredible panoramic north facing view from huge windows in the room! We were able to enjoy the aurora sitting on the couch in our warm room sipping cups of tea by the window. They also have an outside viewing deck and warm drinks and cookies served in the lodge during viewing hours. Their aurora alert system was fantastic. Mok the owner sets up a group chat between the guests staying at the lodge on any given night so that you can text each other if anyone sees the aurora happening. He is also incredibly easy to reach via text and responds immediately. The night we were there the aurora began early in the evening while he was down in Fairbanks, but he got an alert from his neighbor and immediately let us know to look for the aurora. There is also a walkie talkie in the room that you can turn on to get alerts or tell other lodgers where to look if you see one. If you are at this lodge there is no way to miss an aurora if it happens. The room is warm and very clean and the couch and beds are super comfy. You will need to bring your own food as there is no restaurant or store at the lodge, but the kitchen has everything you need for cooking. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to see the aurora and would definitely stay there again.

First of all, this tour was amazing and I'm sorry for taking so long to add a review. I went up to Fairbanks with 5 friends to view the Northern Lights. Stayed at a home in town. Most tour companies would only pick up from certain hotels in town. I reached out to Aurora Borealis Lodge and Mok was quick to respond and willing to pick us up. Any time I had a question, Mok responded in less than a day. On the night of excursion, Mok picked us up and we learned he was the owner of the lodge along with his wife. He was friendly, helpful and willing to answer any questions from the group. In the lodge, Mok offered coffee, hot chocolate and cookies. The lodge was warm and had a restroom. We could chill in the warmth of the lodge until Northern lights appeared and we had the option of a large deck to take photos or videos. I will be reaching out next time I head to Fairbanks. I would totally recommend this.

Mok is a wonderful host. We really enjoyed the warm hospitality of the main lodge for aurora viewing! He was tracking activity, had warm, cozy couches, huge windows, fresh coffee and other hot drinks. Views from the deck are amazing. If you don’t stay here (sadly we didn’t) book the aurora viewing tour!!

Mok is a wonderful host. His space was perfect for Aurora viewing, with hot water, tea and cocoa. The best surprise was the difference in temperature from Fairbanks! The night before we went ice fishing in -35 degrees F and at the lodge, it was 20 degrees F! This really allowed us some quality time outside soaking the colors all in - and when we needed a break, we went inside to warm up! The next day, the aurora was strong and started before 8pm, he even texted to let us know since the lodge wasn't open! Thank you Mok!

We had an amazing stay at the Aurora Borealis Lodge! Mok was a wonderful and welcoming host who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful and had everything we could possibly need, making it the perfect space for our group of five. It was spacious and well-equipped, providing both comfort and convenience.

One of the highlights of our stay was the nightly updates we received about the Aurora Borealis. Thanks to Mok's thoughtful communication, we were always in the loop and had the best chance to catch the stunning lights. The experience was truly unforgettable, and the lodge played a huge part in making our trip so special. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming retreat with amazing views!

Stayed for 4 nights in a second floor room in Dec. 2024-Jan. 2025. The room was warm, spacious, and comfortable. The location is far enough from the city to avoid light pollution but close enough to easily spend the daytime in town. We were incredibly lucky and saw the aurora all four nights we were there! The view from the windows was excellent, and we found that we really appreciated having the flexibility to choose whether we wanted to see the aurora from outside or inside. The photos I’m including were taken from inside. On nights when tours came through, the owners used text messaging and walkie-talkies to let us know when the aurora was visible, which proved invaluable. Truly cannot overstate how wonderful our experience was!

The best views of the Northern Lights. Both from outside in the cold or inside in the warm and comfortable cabin. The best tour we had while visiting Fairbanks. I would recommend this tour for anyone looking to view the Aurora Borealis. Mok was extremely helpful with obtaining our photos. Can't say enough good things about the Aurora Borealis Lodge .

Mok, a very obliging and friendly host, went out of his way to accommodate our reservations despite a glitch on my part. The 30 minute drive out from Fairbanks takes you away from the ambient light to a comfortable cabin with a large unobstrucited viewing area. He is technologically knowledgeable and helpful with beginners taking night phone pictures. The cabin provides. seating, warm beverages and a bathroom Our viewing was awesome It started small and ultimately danced its way across the whole horizon . Worth the late night and the. cold. Thanks Mok
