My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay in the tiny house! It was very clean and actually bigger than we thought it would be. He is 6’5” and I am 5’11” and we had no issues with space. When we walked in it was very obviously just deep cleaned. The location was absolutely perfect, easily walkable to downtown and all the breweries. The owners were very communicative and made sure we had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Discovered this gem and will never go back to a hotel when staying in Asheville! All the other reviews here are spot on: quiet, safe & secure, great shared amenities, easy walking to downtown AVL but you wouldn't know it by how peaceful the street is. Host BJ is so helpful & welcoming, super-available by phone/text if needed. Our room was an oasis after busy days exploring and hiking. We'll be back!

This was my 3rd time staying at the AVL Hostel. The place was immaculately clean as always, varied eclectic music playing from speakers in the hallways, a great big clean kitchen with free pancake fixings and an outside garden area with chair and tables to enjoy the incredible weather(i came from Fl.). If you have to smoke cigarettes, which i do, you can do so on the elevated back deck.
The mattress was more comfortable than what i sleep on at home, i haven't slept this well in a long time. Parking was a breeze with spots available on the property and on the street.
As far as the location, it defies understanding. Even though the hostel is located in the Bustling downtown area, the street itself feels like the suburbs. Walk out the front door, walk up the block, turn the corner and the Asheville breweries, restaurants, buskers, and the Orange Peel music hall which has hosted some of my bands, reveals itself.
This hostel is not a place to be disrespected. There are rules which ensures a truly surprising level of peace and quiet, and personal and belongings safety, matching some out of the way bed and breakfast. Just remember to close the front door till it latches and do not bring the bar back with you, registered guests are the only people allowed on the premises. Follow these essential rules for everyone's safety and i guarantee you will have found the best, yet most economical lodging for your Asheville adventure. Happy trails!

Asheville Hostel & Guest House in Asheville, NC was perfect for my needs. It was clean and safe. It had everything that I needed to be comfortable (clean linens, towels, clean bathroom, well-stocked kitchen, etc.). FYI, This is not a party hostel. This is a quiet hostel located in a quiet neighborhood which I prefer over the traditional party hostel. I did not encounter any problems. I would definitely consider staying here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved the hostel. Great value for being right in the middle of the city. BJ was great at telling us where all the best places to go were at. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Asheville. The hostel was clean and loved the bright, cheerful colors.

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It certainly has the feel of a hostel, but our room - as well as the rest of the house - was clean. The beauty of this hostel is the price and the location. Only a couple of blocks from the center of downtown, we were able to walk to everything. I would recommend this to travelers looking for a clean space in a convenient location at a good price.
