I was visiting friends in the Stevens Point area and wanted to stay somewhere that felt like home. Artha was perfect for the purpose. It gave me a quiet, comfortable, cozy place to unwind after days of running around. I stayed in the Garden Room, which was lovely--had the window open to listen to the night sounds (barred owl and red foxes were treats)--great nights' sleeps. The patio in the front was inviting--two tables, total of ten chairs plus two Adirondack chairs made it a good place to have dinner with a friend. My only caveat is that you should not expect breakfast to be made for you--the hosts provided breakfast foods that you could use to make your own meal. I actually preferred that, as I could make what I wanted when I got up.

Fantastic place to spend a night or a week. Leif was the perfect host and the accomodations have everything you need. Full kitchen, coffee, tea, fruit, eggs, bagels, etc. The Garden Room was small but adequate considering there are a couple of large common rooms plus outdoor space. Very quiet. Bathroom for this room was around the corner, but was not shared with any other room. Highly recommended!

Marguerite and Bob are great hosts and have a wonderful property. I spent a weekend there with three friends at the beginning of March. We had originally planned to participate in some winter sports but sadly there was very little snow so we had to adapt. Luckily, we were staying at Artha and it was enough to just hang out in this comfortable property with a couple trips to town and a hike in Hartman Creek State Park. This house is comfortably furnished with a nice kitchen and dining table that was perfect for eating and playing games of which they had many. The bedrooms are very comfortable and two full baths including fluffy bathrobes. Although they were always available, our hosts certainly did not hover. In addition, there is a yoga studio housed in an old barn. Marguerite led an awesome class for the four of us and took the time to assist us with patience and tailored the class to our abilities. I would definitely stay here again.

The peaceful surroundings grace the comfortable, unimposing and folksy atmosphere Bob and Marguerite have created. This couple lovingly carved a sanctuary from the "busy-ness" of life. The common living area was open, light, and offered great views of the nature awaiting outdoors. Their kitchen area is also open, homey, and more than adequately provides for cooking in. My bed was extremely inviting and comfortable, with the private bath hosting the claw foot tub, shower, and nicely lit vanity area. Engaging conversation with both owners was relaxing, enjoyable, and engaging. Truly the best find, and I cannot wait to return.

We were looking for a quiet place to vacation near Crystal River and Chain of Lakes in Waupaca County. Artha Sustainable Living Center was private, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the quiet country setting for evening walks and sitting around the fire. Bedrooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. The kitchen did not lack any utensils for cooking full meals. Our hosts provided coffee, tea, and breakfast. We were 10 minutes from Pick N Save for groceries or supplies. We spent time in Hartman Creek State Park, Crystal River, Upper chain for kayaking, and near the town for boating and restaurants. With Covid concerns, we never felt uncomfortable. Our hosts were very cautious and accommodating. We hope to return and stay again annually!

I escaped from the hustle and bustle life in Madison to Amherst for 2 days and what a lovely stay I had. The host was so gracious, continuously supplying the stove with logs to burn to keep the environment warm. I stayed in the Garden room, which was extremely cozy. The natural light coming in through the windows was marvelous! The owner refilled the bird feeders, which attracted so many birds! It was incredible to be able to bird watch, directly from the room I stayed in. The color scheme of white and green in the garden room was breathtaking! I adored all of the paintings in the house as well as all of the happy houseplants! I felt extremely welcome there. The owners were so kind, wore their masks, and communicated with me very well. There was access to WiFi and a tv with satellite service. I had the first floor all to myself, which was nice. The kitchen was spacious and stocked with everything one needs. The shared bathroom was located next to the kitchen. Everything was so self explanatory and simple - just the way it ought to be. I received 2 delicious donuts during my stay, which were scrumptious. Their library was wonderful, filled with interesting books and magazines. They had so many games to play! It was fantastic. The only three things I can say that would've enhanced my experience there were if there had been a few rugs on the cold tile floor in the bedroom (to keep my feet warmer), if the headboard hadn't hit the wall when I adjusted in the bed, and that the shower faucet needs some work so that it's not poking out so much because that was awkward. Otherwise, I loved my stay so much that those few little things really didn't take away from the overall positive experience I had. The house seemed very happy and that made me feel very happy and welcome. Also, there was a beautiful trail I walked, halfway, that was lovely. I suggest going during the day time. The indoor heating systems at this B&B are operated by solar panels. Talk about sustainable. Well done. 👍

We arrived about 6 PM and it was very cold and icy. They had a fire burning in the woodstove and the house was super cozy. Our bedroom was comfortable. Everything was professional and private. The breakfast was delicious and hearty with items from their gardens. The hostess was charming and interesting. It was a great adventure staying there And changed my perspective about sustainable living. I am very thankful.

Our stay here was short (only one night—and we needed to leave right after breakfast), but Artha was a delightful place to stay. Bob and Marguerite made us feel very welcome. Beyond crafting such a restful retreat, they happily took care of our dietary restrictions and made us a wonderful home-cooked breakfast.
