Almost a year later, I realized I failed to review this truly wonderful Inn. Everything about our stay, which was to visit son & family, checked all the boxes. Full 1 bdrm suite w kitchen, on the water, whales, sea going boats, lovely landscaping and the nicest hosts imaginable! Do need a car bc itself a short drive into town, but that's a plus in our book! We loved Ketchikan and hope to return for longer visit next time...2 weeks not enough! Oh, complimentary laundry and even had boots & fishing gear for our use. Unlike any place we've enjoyed in US or abroad. Highly recommend, unequivocally.

Anchor Inn by the Sea surpasses your expectations! The suites are comfortable and well equipped. A car is needed since it's 4 miles from town - serenity out back- nature at the doorstep- whales, seals, eagles and jumping salmon! Bear watching just a few miles up the road at Herring Cove (Powerhouse Rd)- great kitchen, gorgeous view of the channel. TV and wi-fi.|New large Three Bears grocery store just minutes down the road in Saxman.|This was my second stay and I hope to come again. Anchor Inn is "living the dream"- can't thank Mary and Greg enough for sharing their stunning home!|Make reservations early to avoid disappointment! (For both the Inn and a vehicle!) Misty Fjords is magical- take the boat trip!

What a wonderful place to stay! Greg and Mary are wonderful hostesses and our stay at Captain Morgan’s Suite was absolutely top of the line. It was well stocked, clean, and spacious. The kitchen had everything one could need to prepare and enjoy meals. The views of the cove are more than spectacular and we were able to see whales, eagles, seals, and more. It is far enough from town that you will need a car . We can’t wait to return!||Cindy H

We were a group of five and stayed for a week in the Alexsandra Suite at the Anchor Inn by the Sea and the Capt. Morgan's Suite next door. Couldn't have picked a better location! We saw humpback whales feeding right outside our accommodation, explored the adjacent tidal pools and saw sea stars galore. Just a couple miles down the road at Herring Cove we saw black bears almost every evening at dusk coming out of the woods to search for salmon. Mary, the proprietor, was helpful and full of good tips and advice. A great base from which to explore Ketchikan and the island.

This is our second summer staying at Anchor Inn. Greg and Mary are great host and do everything possible to make your stay memorable. We saw whales, eagles, seals and sea lions without ever leaving the house. The sunsets are phenomenal and the porch was our go to spot for morning coffee and cocktails in the evening. All in all we couldn’t ask for a nicer spot to spend a week in AK

This is an amazing property right on the water! Sitting on the porch or living room you can eye the ships coming and going, the fishing boats, jumping fish, whales no bald eagles. It is centerally located making it a great vacation spot. The guest homes are beautifully decorated, very cozy and well taken care of. They are stocked with everything you would need from hair dryer to BBQ and laundry. Highly recommend a tay at Anchor Inn By The Sea!

When my husband and I went on our first vacation in four years, we really wanted to go somewhere special. After a few weeks of searching I found this little place just outside of Ketchikan. The pictures were so lovely. I can tell you, they did not do the place justice. It was like staying in a postcard! Mary, the owner of the property was so welcoming and kind. Upon leaving, I was in such a rush that I left a fragile gift that was meant for my mother-in-law. She was so sweet and mailed the item home to me! We hope to return and visit again some day. Definitely a 10/10 experience!

Stayed here for 6 days in June in the Whale Watch Suite. Unfortunately, the whales did not cooperate by showing themselves, but we did see eagles, mink, & a sea lion! Beautiful location to watch the water and enjoy the peace. Nice walking path nearby. Mary (owner) was very friendly & hospitable.
