Besides the roaches it a ok place. The room service ladies are so respectful and will go beyond to make your stay as nice as possible.
And Mr.Tim nomatter what time it is he will help you to his best ability. If you stay there just don't go upstairs. Stay on ground floor.

This place is absolutely filthy, the manager is rude and hateful. It's not a place to bring children if you want them to stay healthy. Really, it should be shut down. There are a few other places within the same price range that are at least cleaner than the American Inn. I do not recommend this place for dogs much less human beings.

The only redeeming factor of this hotel is that we are no longer here. We had stayed for a week and there were ants in the room and roaches. The bathroom had no toilet paper and the towels had stains on them. The bed comforter was super thin and had cigarette burns in it. The room itself had a smell to it and the owners are extremely rude and when asked to pick up some clothes in the room they stood at the door and said they had to watch to make sure we cleaned correctly? They will be in your room every time you leave to snoop around and see what you have. They will also constantly pester you to keep the room spotless and even go so far as to say the health department over some clothes and toddlers toys in the floor. They will call you saying you need to pay when your check out date is not for another few days. And their card machine is never working. It was down the entire time and they do not offer any apologies for it an instead act as if you are bothering them. Stay far far away.

It was not a good experience staying a night here. The first room we got in, we found a roach on the floor so we had to switch room. We checked for bed bugs and the bed was clear, however; we found some socks and hair between the sheets. The bathroom did not have toilet paper. On the wall you can see a line of dead ants. The receptionist is friendly is the only good thing about this place.

We got a $50 deal on hotels.com with a promo code. We checked in at 11 PM and still got prompt service at the front desk. The lady was kind and polite. We had booked another room for someone else and she couldn't find it on her computer, but we had the confirmation in hand so no problems. ||||We were there from 11 PM until 8 AM so we didn't have a full experience, I'm sure. ||||Our rooms were clean minus some renovation tell-tale signs (caulk or white paint on floor, a bit of paint spatter on linens). Our toilet paper was barely a half roll and had water damage on it (looked like it had been sitting on a counter and soaked up water, then let dry). Light above sink in bathroom didn't turn on but I didn't report it until we checked out. The lights outside still come in around the edges of the curtains and it has a typical wall unit AC that never turns off unless you do it manually. ||||I know all that sounds negative, but for me, if that's the worst I have to report, that's pretty good. ||||They have new management since 2016 who has renovated the place. They put down laminate or vinyl faux wood in the rooms so no gross carpet. They do have flat screen TVs and the pillows are of nice quality and they have an ice machine. Linens are of cheap quality and are rough (towels, bedspread) and shampoo comes in what looks like a condiment package. I recommend having your own toiletries.||||No bugs, no rudeness, no noise. ||||It's a 2 star hotel folks, and as such, it's pretty good. :)||||||https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g28995-d247630-r496159262-American_Inn_Anniston-Anniston_Alabama.html#

It was hands down the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff unbelievably rude. It was definitely beyond what I would have ever imagined with a business that solely relies on customer satisfaction. The rooms were absolutely horrid. I asked to change rooms 3 different times because each one they put me in, I tell ya... I wouldn't even allow my children to step in there. There was bed bugs in the first room they tried to put me in, a noticeable amount crawling all over the bed. I made them aware of it so then, the 2nd room.. it had no fridge, the ceiling was falling down in the bathroom, mold growing in every corner and smelt like a rotten rodent was in there. The final room was bareable, though it didn't have any light bulbs in any of the lamps, it looked at though they attempted to do some remodeling because their was sheet rock dust everywhere. I just shut the door, ran to the nearest Dollar General and spent about $30 on cleaning supplies. A lot of antibacterial cleaner and odor eliminating candles. I cleaned it up myself to the point where I felt comfortable sleeping there. I wouldn't dare to even use their linens so thank goodness I had some of my own in my vehicle..
My room has been paid up until Friday so, only one more day of this then I'm out of this dump pile. My advice, never stay at the American Inn not even if it's the last resort. You're better off pitching a tent up and calling it a night.
