Wonderful B&B! ||||The owners (Bob & Nancy) are very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. When you arrive they give you a tour and offer you a sparkly beverage. The rooms were good size and the private bathrooms are nice to have. I noticed that they paid alot of attention to little details in the private rooms that really make a difference in the quality of the stay; little things like giving you a fan, tissues, water + cups, extra face/hand towels, even a lock for your door. ||||I'm usually pretty disappointed in beds/pillows, but their's were surprisingly comfortable and we slept great. I heard another B&B guest 1x close their doors when they came in around midnight, but otherwise it was quite for sleeping.||||We enjoyed some quiet reading time in the morning before breakfast as we watched the deer outside eating their breakfast! Breakfast was at 830a and it was a lovely and delicious spread of food. This is one of the most amazing places to stay. They think of everything to make you comfortable. The breakfast was delicious . The house has so many comfortable places to relax. The outdoor patio is like a dream come true in the middle of a forest. Even the deer come for an outdoor feeding . Everyday they come close to the house to welcome you . What a wonderful B&B. Bob and Nancy are very welcoming and made our stay really comfortable with all the special touches. My husband and I stayed in the Gold Room so we had our own bathroom. From the champagne toast to the comfy living room and bedroom to the delicious breakfast, we were very happy. When I had to drop my husband off early for his show, Nancy was kind enough to still fix his full breakfast and pack it up to go in such a way that it even stayed warm. I plan to go back again in December.

My wife and I stayed at Bob and Nancy’s bed and breakfast and had a lovely time. We were in Port Townsend to see the town and explore the nature there. Staying at Amber Lights was out of town, but only by a bit. So you need a car and have to be ok driving in dark wood roads. But once at their place, it is very welcoming and relaxing. The bedroom with the bathroom was quiet and we never heard a peep out of anyone else staying there. It was well-appointed with soap and bath wash and shampoo and conditioner. Cold water. Lotion. Tissues. Trash cans. Comfy bed and blankets. Very clean. The breakfast in the morning was plentiful and they let us take our leftovers for lunch so we didn’t waste the abundance. Bob is interesting to talk to. Into history! Nancy is a bit more quiet and seems to value privacy of her guests. We had to shut the heater vents as we got a little toasty the first night. We liked how we could make a coffee at any time. Also, we are a gay couple and they were totally welcoming. A great trip!

I wasn't expecting such a wonderful stay. I figured it to be just average. Upon arrival, the proprietors opened the door and warmly greeted me in. I could see immediately that this was a super nice place. My room was just right for me. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast||T the next morning was excellent. I stayed several nights and I felt very relaxed and comfortable the whole time I was there. The grounds are very peaceful|| I'll definitely stay there again.

My only regret is that I didn’t learn of Amber Lights B&B while booking my Washington vacation. I arrived in town to find the inn I had booked to be dirty, moldy, and unsafe. On a busy Friday afternoon in the summer, I furiously searched for alternate lodging and found Amber Lights available (via Orbitz) for the second and third nights of my trip; I stayed the first at Manresa Castle. What a joy it was to find a beautiful country home with welcoming hosts, Nancy and Bob! They built their home eight years ago as a B&B and didn’t miss a single convenience guests require. My room was amazingly comfortable with a view of the back yard and deck. Nancy’s breakfasts are a culinary delight. Deer freely roam the property, one of whom Bob feeds by hand. Be sure to ask him about the names of the bucks. Amber Lights B&B is located about four miles from town center on a very quiet street. I can’t say enough about this wonderful B&B and the gracious hosts!

PROS: This home was built to be a B&B. It’s quiet, out in the country, very clean, owner serves an eloquent breakfast (!), private bath, small frig in room, guests can use living room area, deck out back.||CONS: We are normally hotel people, so I found the Gold Room to be VERY cramped with a king bed in an average size bedroom. There was no place to sit down except on the bed. Only room for one luggage holder with suitcase. Owners may want to consider a queen bed here.

Great time at this B and B. Food is excellent and plentiful. Owners quite helpful with directions and local food recommendations, even road conditions. They have a family of deer that visit each morning around breakfast; nice to watch. They are out in the country but easy to find and well lit in the evening.. Highly recommend if you are near Port Townsend (approx 10 min from town), and nice drive to Olympic National Park.
