Great location to enjoy easy access to skiing just steps away from your room. Village restaurants were tasty. The heated pool & hot tub were relaxing after a long day. Rooms were clean & small kitchen was very nice to have. A great minor upgrade would be higher end bedding & pillows. Overall it was wonderful for our spring break ski trip. We will be back!

The room I stayed in was very clean but was also very dated. Beds were really comfortable. Cool arcade and play area for kids inside the enclosed condo unit. Great idea IMO but know where your room is or you may hear kids screaming/playing while in your room. Location is fantastic! Steps away - literally just steps from all of the village amenities. Like a one minute walk through the parking lot and down some stairs. Staff was friendly and helpful. They genuinely seemed to enjoy their job.
Ski in ski out too. The dated room was not that important because everything else about the property was awesome including how clean it was. My host was really responsive and helpful.

Currently staying at the Allegheny Springs as part of my 4 day stay. I am on day two and I would love nothing more than to leave. My first instinct upon walking into the room was wanting to put everything back into the car. The room smells horrible. There were no pillow cases. The light fixtures don’t work. The lights that do work make a horrible buzzing sound when you turn them on. Door handles are broken. I am disgusted by my stay. As soon as I realized these issues I was going to call the front desk but the welcome brochure notes, to my dismay, that the units are individually owned and therefore they are not responsible for the condition of the room. This was not highlighted on the website upon booking. If you are wanting a nice getaway don’t stay here. It’s outdated and gross. The hallways smell worse. I was excited to stay and enjoy a romantic getaway and ski. Instead, I got a nasty 1980’s worn down hotel room with a resort that says they can’t help. I called the number on the brochure just to be sure and see what they could help me with considering how disappointed I am but the number was ā€œdisconnectedā€ and ā€œno longer in serviceā€. When unpacking the car in the front of the resort onto the carts my boyfriend was repeatedly told he couldn’t unpack his car there despite the fact there were 3 other cars doing the same thing. I’m not sure what made it okay for the others and not him. I am not one to leave reviews much less negative ones but people need to realize what they are paying for. I want nothing more than to leave but I have recreations for activities tomorrow night that I can’t cancel with less than 72 hours notice. Don’t stay at a resort that isn’t a resort at all. It’s a scam.

We recently visited Snowshoe for the first time and stayed at Allegheny Springs (Room 214). Our experience was fantastic! Welcoming/helpful staff at the front desk, kind ski instructors for our boys, and friendly staff at the ski lifts. We are a family of four (boys ages 11 and 14) and stayed in a studio room. It was very clean, had been updated, and the kitchenette was stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed being able to store our skis in the locker room and having such close proximity to the slopes! Other reviews may make you shy away from Allegheny Springs, but we had a fantastic experience and do not think our experience was an anomaly.

Great location, but when the luggage carts run out, since everyone has the same checkout time, the teardrop entry became a parking lot; first come, first served to get stuck. No one mentioned options for after-ski clothes storage or the use of a gym shower. I never knew when the key cards were going to turn off or where they needed to be turned in. Some easy fix issues, but maybe we just had poor communication from our condo manager.

In addition, there is poor sound proofing so you can hear people walking in ski boots at all hours.

We have stayed at Allegheny for years.
PRO:
1. Location

CON
2. Hot water in the rooms is gone by 5 pm and stays gone until the morning. So, imagine… everyone coming in frozen and no one getting a hot shower. This has happened each time we have visited. Morning shower is hot.

2. Allegheny is now charging for extra towels. $25! We already pay a high amount for a room that doesn’t have room service, trash service, and now doesn’t even offer extra towels as needed. Ridiculous.

3. Check in Allegheny. The staff was very pleasant, but the lines were long and not even for Allegheny guests. Anyone checking in anywhere can check in through Allegheny.

4. Low staff. I understand this isn’t easy to fix when there aren’t workers, but it was a busy holiday timeframe… New Year’s and they had two people fitting for skiis. The line was over 45 minute wait. And this was for the evening pick up when it is supposed to be less people.

I think this was our last time after over 10 years of going.

There was a lady named Becky working at the front desk who was unpleasant from the moment we arrived. I later called the front desk asking for board games because there were none in our room, one lady said she would bring them right up. Becky says ā€œit’s owner preferenceā€ very rudely…and wouldn’t give us any games. The first time I came to snow shoe it was magical. Everyone was happy but this experience really ruined the first night for us.
