I booked this hotel because of its proximity to Santa Monica and the beach near Venice. I highly recommend it as the family that runs it couldn’t be any nicer. It is clean, airy and well maintained. I recommend you spend a little more money for one of the larger rooms if they are available, but you won’t be dissatisfied with any of the rooms here.

Highly recommend this hotel. Great for families! They have a bungalow for the big family which is amazing! That was a great option for us! Plus free parking which is a huge plus for this area. Manager Daniel helped us when we had issues. Great service and updated rooms. 10/10

Extremely disappointing experience! My flight was canceled at the last minute, leaving me stranded with no other options for two days. While the manager, Daniel, was initially friendly, he quickly began dodging my calls, claiming he was “too busy” and could only respond via text. Even given the situation, they rigidly hid behind a no-cancellation policy, offering zero flexibility or support to adjust or cancel my stay. Not only did they refuse to accommodate my request, but they also upheld the full charge, despite not providing the service I had paid for. Very poor customer service!

Thank you for your response. I only wish this level of attentiveness had been present when I initially faced these issues.

While it’s true that Daniel responded at first, he soon dodged my calls and, notably, ignored my last text confirming my stay for Saturday—when I could finally reach Los Angeles. Despite your claim, he knows well he left my message unanswered, which is both unprofessional and inexcusable. If Daniel insists he responded, I’d appreciate seeing the proof, as I am confident it does not exist.

It's funny that you ignored my email last week, but as soon as I posted this review, I finally got a response. I'll be sharing this experience on Booking.com too since my reservation was never actually canceled by the hotel, yet I was still charged for a stay I never used.

We had a great time staying in this hotel. Got free upgrade for a bigger room. Really nice service, everybody was so friendly! Rooms are so clean and looks like recently were remodeled. Perfect location, 10-15 minutes walk from all popular restaurants in DT area and the ocean. Were able to get incredibly early check in for free. Definitely will come back !

This place was amazing. I traveled with my boss in search of locations for a new restaurant, and I can’t recommend the family bungalow enough—perfect for meetings and esp seperation of space if ur traveling as a family or with a few friends.

The management is professional, fair, and incredibly easy to contact. When my boss GF forgot her purse, it was promptly returned to me with all her valuables intact—just another example of the honesty and efficiency.

They have a charming little office space where you can enjoy coffee or tea, making it feel like a home away from home. Its perfect for any traveler or even a group —just be sure to book in advance since it’s a smaller property.

Overall, no need to take a fall or have any bad experiences to find a true hidden gem—-Aliza is it. If youre searching for an authentic local experience away from the chains then book your stay!

I found this hotel last minute. It is hip, bright, clean and down to earth in away. My room was modern, light with black trim. The shower pressure was fierce. Loved it. Check in was easy with a simple access code. |The location is ideal-on Rose Street across from Whole Foods and near coffee shops and restaurants. It’s a 15 minute straight walk to the beach.

Really good find. The rooms were light, airy and a good size with a nice bathroom. We arrived super early but the owner (or manager) put us into a room which was ready to go which was great. Amazing Mexican across the road and a 15 ish minute walk to the beach. We felt safe and comfortable and would for sure stay here again

I stayed at the Aliza Hotel in August of this past year. The days leading up to check in I actually received a text that my room was going to be upgraded, which was great news to me since this was just one of my stops during my trip out to CA to celebrate my 40th birthday 😊. Upon arrival, I was early and texted to see if I could check in early, even though they were still prepping the room, they stayed in contact to keep me updated on when I could finally arrive which was much appreciated!
The room itself was like a mini apartment and the location of the hotel was just a few blocks from the beach and the boardwalk with so many places to eat and shop nearby. Definitely planning on staying here again!
