We had such an amazing time — Richard is a fantastic host and goes above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of. We had a tight schedule and Richard insisted to offer our breakfast earlier (even though that meant he needed to make 2 separate breakfasts in the morning to accommodate us). The home itself is beautiful — great charm and decor yet comfortable enough considering the home is 150+ years old. We will be back to Winona multiple times visiting our brother at college and we hope to stay at this B&B each time. Highly recommend!

Amazing Victorian Mansion Experience. I can’t wait to go back! Five-star rating for an innkeeper who cares deeply about the guest experience and accommodations. The rooms are beautiful, the sheets soft, the smells great, the food amazing. But it’s the hosts, and the genuine care and personal attention that they give to their guests, that makes the stay at the Alexander Mansion precious. I was deeply moved by the atmosphere and history. Winona, Minnesota is lucky to have this incredible B&B. And the owners.

If you are thinking of staying here, this is your sign to do so. Richard is an absolute gem of a host and sets the bar high regarding hospitality. Breakfast is included (and delicious, like seriously this guy can cook). The atmosphere inside the house makes the stay worth it alone. There is a fully functional fireplace that can be set up for extra ambiance. You can tell Richard loves what he does and is committed to providing the best service to his patrons. I'd give 6 stars if I could!

Amazing! We enjoyed our stay so much. Richard by far went above and beyond from everything to welcoming us, to delivering a night treat and a delicious breakfast both days we stayed. The room was perfect and the whole place is gorgeous. Definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Alexander to celebrate his birthday and it was the most wonderful experience! Richard is an outstanding host that pays attention to all the details (he left us nightcaps in our room!). The breakfast was tasty, the beds were comfy, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We will be back!

Such an incredible experience. We were in love with the house but even more in love with the outstanding hospitality of Richard. He did everything and more to accommodate us. He was funny & personable, lots of fun to be around. We loved gathering at the table for breakfast and chatting with the other guests. Thank you Richard for the outstanding experience!!
