We are frequent guests at Alderbrook Resort and we always have the most wonderful time! It is our happy place, from the beautiful views to the excellent food and service. We usually stay in the guest cottages which have stunning water views and the kitchens are well stocked with everything we need. The hotel rooms are also very nicely decorated and the main lobby is charming and peaceful, from the seating areas around the large stone fireplace to the tables for games, coffee bar and gift shop stocked with lovely trinkets. Our grandkids love looking for the sweet kitties, Alder and Brook that curl up in the lobby, and swimming in the pool is their favorite past time. Even in winter we enjoy the beautiful scenery, hiking trails and the peace and serenity of this beautiful place. We can’t wait to go again soon.

A hidden gem tucked away on the southern end of Hood Canal. All of the staff was extraordinarly friendly and helpful. I had a corner queen room facing the water. It was comfortable with a spectacular view. The grounds were well kept and beautiful. It was a serene and relaxing 3 nights. The restaurant had great service and tasty food as well. I highly recommend this place for all. They are very family and pet friendly as well. An extra treat was a facial and the all the wildlife.

Stay was super nice, beautiful location, beautiful resort. Pool and hot tub was nice. The sauna wasn’t working only got to 130 degrees. Also steam room didn’t look like it was washed down often. The steam could definitely use some kind of scent. Was an amazing trip with the wife and kids.

We visited the last weekend in February and absolutely loved the resort and property. We stayed in cottage #3 which was cozy and spacious. The bed was super comfy - soft. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Brook, the hotel cat, is super cute and loves her belly rubs! The pool, hot tub and sauna are great and overlook the Olympic mountains. So beautiful. The grounds are pristine and well maintained. The hiking trails are beautiful. The signage on the trails aren’t great. We got turned around a few times haha. We had planned to do three different trails over two days but ended up doing licorices, dogwood and huckleberry all in one shot. It took us two hours. A very beautiful stay and I would definitely return. The food was delicious. Fresh and delicious. Thank you for a magical weekend!

Gorgeous views. Staff is so kind and greets you with a smile. We were part of a large group and they reached out to see if we need things - responded to requests quickly. Rooms were very nice - love the bathtubs!

My family and I made reservations to celebrate my birthday at Alderbrooke Bar and Grill. We arrived to your beautiful establishment and our waiter was pleasant. When being seated by the hostess I inquired if we could have a seat by the window as no one was seated around the table we were being set at ( like five empty tables no reseved sign etc..) and was told that all those tables were reserved for VIPs. I didn't take too much issue with this as our table had a good view, other than to say as a patron I didn't like feeling like my business wasn't as important or me and my family were less then. Our hostess could have simply said that the tables were already reserved.
Moving onto the main issue:
If I or my family are going to pay for steaks that cost 50-76$ I would hope that they be prepared as requested.
Unfortunately this was not the case. My mother in law's filet(50+) was ordered as Medium rare and came to us very well done and tough accompanied with slightly above room temperature mashed potatoes. My husband's ribeye steak(70+$) was requested Medium and also was well done. (He ate part of it but ended up doggie bagging the rest and brought it home to our dogs).
This was incredibly disappointing as the ambience was wonderful, the cocktails were tasty, the coffee was rich and the after dinner 35 yr port was amazing.
And yet...
The steaks left such an impression that both my husband and mother-in-law stated to me that they won't return. Frankly I don't blame them, as the main reason we came was for an amazing dinner and sadly were let down.
I have worked in similar establishments and do not make this complaint lightly as I understand the high level of service required for said establishments.
I also understand we could have sent the steaks back...
However, our meal took so long to come to the table and by the time we were able to begin eating the restaurant was full and in prime dinner shift. We did not want to wait again for the meals to be corrected as my ravioli would have been cold by then and the wait probably would have been even longer given the dinner rush being in full swing by then.
It really is a shame as this establishment is one of the nicer in the area.
Regretfully, first impressions felt lacking.

I am absolutely disappointed with our experience at this spa and resort. My husband and I booked a special anniversary package, including a room and two spa services each, six weeks in advance. When we arrived, we tried to confirm our spa appointments, only to find out they had scheduled one person for back-to-back services, not two, and massages were fully booked. They got the email confirmation incorrect, so we were not aware of this schedule issue. We then asked if we could at least enjoy the wraps together while one of us had a massage beforehand, but they couldn't accommodate that either.

To top it off, when the front desk called to check on our stay and we explained the issue with the spa, they simply apologized and mentioned that the spa and hotel were separate departments—no offer to rectify the situation or make it right. The lack of care for our experience was beyond frustrating, especially since we came here for a romantic, long weekend getaway. In the end, we decided to leave early, skip the spa, and won't be participating in the rest of our stay. As someone who works in the service industry, I am thoroughly dissatisfied with how this was handled. We won’t be returning, ever.

Lastly, our neighbors have a small happy dog that is constantly left in the room alone to bark non-stop. This even occurred at 9 PM at night, and after calling the front desk, we were told that they would "try to reach the room." With two dogs of our own, we take being respectful for other guests VERY SERIOUSLY to not ruin their stay. This lack of attention severely ruins it for every other dog owner, and it's not okay in the least bit.

I do not recommend this resort or spa. I'd rather camp in the woods and not be bothered with wasting my money for this poor level of "service."

Rooms: Small, but pretty good. Our place had 2 beds and 1 couch that folds into a bed. Service: Food was good and servers were very nice, although there's a cat in the lobby that was super mean. They made my little sister and some nephews bleed! Location: Beautiful nature surrounds the area. Lots of trees. There was a neighboring house one night that we think had some energized children because they made my parents stay up until around 1 AM. Not gonna dock a star though because it's not the hotels fault. Overall pretty good experience with the family.
