We only stayed one night, but were overwhelmed with the view and hospitality that we were lucky enough to experience. Petra and Allen were wonderful hosts! Between Allen's homemade beer in the evening and Petra's delcious sweetbreads at breakfast, we felt truly pampered. Not to mention how they went above and beyond to provide our family with everything we needed for a memorable clamming adventure. Our red room was quite comfortable and tastefully decorated. The view of Mt Redoubt was breathtaking! The Alaska Log Haven is truly a hidden treasure along the Cook Inlet coast! We would love to visit again for a longer stay. (If you are interested in clamming, check the tide charts for the lowest tides and experience this true Alaskan activity.)

We spent several days at Alaska Log Haven and it was the highlight of our trip to Alaska. The B&B is located part-way down the Kenai Peninsula and is a great location for day trips in either direction. Petra and Allen were the most wonderful hosts imaginable - we felt like they were more like friends than innkeepers. Breakfast was fabulous every single day, with a great selection of items from which to choose. Late afternoon there was wine/beer/soft drinks and an appetizer (including a terrific smoked salmon spread). There are two upstairs B&B rooms and a third, family size room on the lower level. The upstairs rooms share a sitting area and deck w/hot tub and the most amazing view across Cook Inlet. You can see smoke rising from Mt. Redoubt most of the time. I could go on and on about how great this place is but will sum up by saying you can't go wrong staying at Alaska Log Haven. We would definitely recommend and hope to return ourselves sometime!

This was our first time at a B&B and we couldn't have made a better choice. Allen and Petra were welcoming, helpful and fun to talk to. We arrived mid afternoon for the last night of our 11 day Alaska trip feeling a little grungy and dreading the long flight home. They gave us great tips on places to eat, walk the shore, and find wildlife that we would never have found on our own. We finished our evening with a glass of complimentary wine and the most amazing ocean sunset and view of Mt. Redoubt (and two other "ring of fire" volcanoes) from the deck of their beautiful log home. Our comfortable room had a private bath and was nicely appointed. Breakfast was cooked to order, and as endless as you wanted it to be, which my "Breakfast Man" husband greatly appreciated.
