If you need a beautiful, delicious, charcuterie platter that's also a show stopper you can't do better than Alaska Coastal Catering. They are easy to work with, detail oriented and I always get more than my money's worth. The platter was for a funeral and was a beautiful tribute to the person we lost. ❤️ Can't wait to have them do another event for us.

I needed an appetizer platter to host several colleagues for a weeknight Fall happy hour. Susie's platter was colorful, chock full of delicious options and had something for everyone. My guests appreciated the cheese variety (bourbon gouda! horseradish cheddar!) and the mini macarons. All ingredients were fresh, flavorful and obviously high quality.

I asked her to add a kid's platter so that my 5 and 7 year old would feel included. Not only was her kid's platter beautifully themed (creepy spiders and candy-filled skulls!) the options were so tempting that I had to sneak a piece or two off of their platter!

Picking up at Anchorage Wine House meant I could add in some adult beverages for my grown-up guests.

Both platters were a smash hit. Consider us future repeat customers.

It is amazing how good food brings people together. Many Thanks and Praise goes to Susie for pulling this together last minute for the "Scottish Tea" I attended. We all marveled at how beautiful the charcuterie board looked with all the different and colorful varieties of fruits and cheeses especially the Scottish laches and smoked salmon dip with the Scotty Dog cookies. Attention was paid to the smallest of details and made this even more special than I had anticipated. It is such a work of art! But nothing compares to the phone calls and texts I received after the event to know that it was truly appreciated! Thanks Susie!

I ordered 2 charcuterie boards for my baby shower. The communication was great as far as I was aware. When ordering charcuterie boards the expectation is typically meats and cheeses of some sort with other assorted things mixed in perhaps, I didn't think that needed to be clarified. Do not use their website as reference to what they provide, this is what I did. When I received photos of the boards, which were mostly all fruit and a little bit of cheese and a tiny bit of reindeer and chicken meat. I was confused as to why a charcuterie board looked like this and asked for clarification and sent a photo of their website examples, she said they haven't updated the website in 5 years as no one uses it which is why we had different ideas of services. False advertising in my opinion and why have it linked to your Facebook if you don't want anyone to use it or base their ideas of your service off it? Advertise as fruit and cheese boards because that's what it is. I was understanding and asked if they could add meats to the side or something and she let me know they are no longer using meats like salami and prosciutto (not mentioned in our original
phone call) due to a recall on them. Which I did look up and there was a recall on one specific brand that did not effect alaska.
She let me know I could look at them at the wine house they are dropped off at and choose to leave them for a refund or take them, opening one saran wrapped tray and one taped shut tray in the middle of a liquor store wasn't exactly super easy to do so I didn't, plus my options then were pay $250 for something I did not ask for or have no food for my baby shower the next day. I took the boards and let her know my concerns the next day in a very nice and cordial message, I let her know she has been great to work with and that while they were beautiful they weren't what I was under the impression of receiving, $250 for something I wasn't trying to obtain is frustrating to say the least. If I knew that's what appetizer boards were I wouldn't have bought 2, probably would have found somewhere else to order from honestly. I never asked for a refund or anything and she still ignored my text which I sent well over
a day prior to leaving a review, she responded to the review almost immediately. The fact she ignored me when I was coming to her to discuss my experience was extremely unprofessional in the first place. I then left a Facebook review and she berated me and tried to gaslight me, she even commented on the review that she was going to give me a refund before I posted a negative review but not anymore (she never contacted me after I sent her a message and never once mentioned a refund) I was expressing my concerns as a customer, she could have validated my concerns or responded in any professional manner at all. She blocked me on Facebook as well after leaving her incredibly snarky response.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the wildly unprofessional responses.

Absolutely fantastic! Susie was such a pleasure to work with for our wedding. She made sure that the menu was exactly what we wanted and even made sure that we had to-go bags (something I didn’t realized would be so appreciated after such a long day). Her and her staff were incredibly professional and provided a great presentation…and our guests are still talking about that prime rib!

Went to a friend's wedding that was being catered by Alaska Coastal Catering. There were not enough appetizers for us, and they were not provided during the wedding (we were told there would be appetizers at the wedding AND the reception, but there were none at the wedding site). During the reception, food was under cooked (vegetables and my salmon, though I was told by other guests that their salmon was overcooked). The chicken was bland. Sauce was provided, but there were no flavor options if you didn't like the sauce. The chicken itself was not seasoned at all. The lady that was there for catering was all over the place, in places that had nothing to do with catering and with so many catering issues, I would have thought the priority would have been fixing those problems first. They were not on time to the event and seemed to be causing issues for a number of people in the wedding party. This was all pretty obvious to us as guests. Just not very professional. I would definitely think twice before hiring this company, despite the good reputation the family is associated with.
