Patty at Alaska and Beyond provided so much help in organizing our trip. We loved having her well-researched and thorough itinerary which we used frequently to pick a restaurant, navigate airports, and remind us of our daily schedule. On the way home, Patty called us at the Anchorage airport to report a recovered item from our last flight. Her attention to detail and friendly and professional manner made our trip not only more enjoyable, but also less stressful. Thanks Patty for helping us plan the trip of a lifetime!

I’m so glad I found Patty and her team at Alaska and Beyond! What started as a 6-person family trip quickly grew to a group of 18 and eventually a total of 30 friends and family across 3 generations (ages 2 to 70s). We were all traveling to Alaska on different dates with varying visions of an ideal trip and budgets, and Patty patiently worked with everyone to tailor our itineraries accordingly. I really appreciated Patty’s communication style - she was very responsive when we needed her and provided just the right amount of emails to highlight deadlines and other important information without flooding our inboxes. This was such a special trip for my group that we’ll remember for decades to come and I truly believe it wouldn’t have been such a success without Patty’s hard work!

Patty always does a great job setting up these trips. As usual this one was flawless, all the hotel reservations and transfers went off without a hitch. The Uncruise portion of our trip was our 4th and the best yet.

We had amazing time. Alaska is a pretty special place. UnCruise was perfect in every way (maybe wi-fi would be nice upgrade). The boat was ideal and the staff were all very caring and professional. None if it would have been as special without Patty's guidance.

New Zealand, Australia and Bali Cruise plus Land March 2024
On March 1, 2024 we arrived in Auckland, New Zealand (NZ) to complete our Covid interrupted Regent Cruise to Singapore which had started in San Francisco. Having traveled across half the world just to start our trip, plane arrangements were very important and thanks to Patti’s expertise, they worked flawlessly for us: no missed connections and no lost luggage. We stayed in Auckland at a first-class hotel within easy walking distance for dinners and sightseeing. We also did a few excursions, including a cave to view a local phenomenon: bio-luminescent glow worms. We also visited a local farm for lunch.
We boarded the SS Navigator in Auckland smoothly and were under way in the evening. While the weather turned windy, we were just fine on our stabilized ship. and toured Tauranga for two days and saw how Kiwi fruit is grown.
Our next stops were in the North of NZ, well planned as usual, with just enough bus tours to educate us as about the area.
We then crossed the Tasmin Sea, and it took us a full day to cross to Townsville, Australia (AUS) where we got a guided tour of a rain forest. Flora and fauna are very strange and different for us Americans and our guide helped us make sense of it all. We then stopped at three more AUS ports visiting where Captain Cook repaired his ship, the Endeavor, which was damaged when he discovered the Great Barrier Reef the hard way and put a hole in his vessel. And yes, there were crocodiles in the river we traveled on. No hand’s in the water, please. The highlight of Cairns was a Catamaran ride out to the Great Barrier Reef to do some snorkeling. Our last stop in AUS was Darwin, but to get there we had to cross a large bay and that is when a Typhoon slowed us down a bit, but with a sound ship and good captain who kept his passengers informed, we did just fine. Sea days, as they are called, gave us the opportunity to meet fellow passengers and we formed some lasting friendships while dining in elegance with the incredible Navigator staff. We were also entertained by musicals and a comic who wrote for “The Simpsons” and whom we could not get enough of. He made us laugh: something not so easy to do these days. His performances were well attended and informative.
We crossed to Indonesia and the island of Komodo to visit with their fierce dragons: six foot plus reptiles that, thankfully, were moving slowly. Our guides had forked sticks and made sure no Komodo’s bothered us. It was and other worldly experience.
Bali was our final destination and we had purchased the extended shore tours. We stayed at a fantastic world class hotel, the Ava Kopinski, where we had a large room with a walk-in closet, shower and our own plunge pool and outdoor sunbathing area. The tours and the people of Bali were wonderful, welcoming and helpful. It is a different world from ours where we were enthralled by its uniqueness of its sights and sounds. Our trip home with three flights and a day time gained, all worked flawlessly thanks to Patti. Korean Air was first class and our eventual transfer to Delta in LAX worked perfectly: no lost luggage and on time arrivals.
Without Patti’s attention to detail and tireless patience, this trip could have been problematic: we heard other Regent passengers speak of plane problems, both delayed flights and missing luggage, but we had none of those. Regent is truly a first-class cruise operation and Patti, because of her expertise and long experience, knows what questions to ask us and then provided a seamless and enjoyable once in a lifetime trip for us. Her quick responses to our myriad of questions and her attention to details made sure our trip half way across the world was a never to be forgotten great experience. We can’t say enough good things about Patti and how helpful she was.
