A group of us stayed here in February 2025 and if there were 6 or more stars - The Great Escape and Agate Bay Realty would both get these.

Our stay at The Great Escape, was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness put into every aspect of the home. The kitchen facilities were by far the best we’ve ever experienced in a holiday rental – extremely well-stocked with an impressive array of utensils, cooking options, and pantry items, right down to zip lock bags and food storage containers for leftovers! Whether we wanted to cook a quick meal or prepare a gourmet dinner, the kitchen had everything we needed and more.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom amenities rival any hotel stay with plush towels, essential toiletries, and everything you'd expect for a luxury experience.

The spa was meticulously maintained and was the perfect way to relax after a day on the slopes. The fenced yard was perfect for a pet friendly offering. It’s clear that the property owners of the Great Escape and Agate Bay Realty care deeply about their guests' comfort and convenience.

One of the standout features was the clear and comprehensive information provided for using everything in the house. All appliances and systems were well-labeled, and the instructions were easy to follow – a thoughtful touch that made the stay even more enjoyable.

Agate Bay Realty, the letting agent for The Great Escape was incredible, extremely responsive and proactive, providing all the information we needed leading up to our arrival. They even included a note with a promise that if our stay was anything less than 5 stars, to contact them directly. This level of customer service was refreshing and much appreciated – a further reinforcement that they truly care about a positive guest experience.

As an annual visitor to the Tahoe region from overseas, and having stayed at multiple rentals in the area, I can confidently say I won’t be staying anywhere else. This property and the team behind it have set a new standard, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This home had amazing views from all rooms and a wonderful deck. We enjoyed nice meals outside and using the hot tub after hiking. Great location just minutes from Kings beach or Tahoe City with many restaurants and fun activities. We will definitely come back. Great property for family vacations!

The Sunset Getaway gets everything right! The cabin is very cozy and the furniture and beds are so comfortable. The communication was excellent and check-in was a breeze. We walked in to a lovely fire going in the fireplace and everything was immaculate. The kitchen is well stocked. We loved the television set up...just hook up your computer and you are good to go. This is perhaps the best run property that I have ever stayed. We loved our time here.

We have stayed in many different properties in Tahoe over the years and this was by far the absolute best! The views from every upstairs room and the expansive patio were amazing. This is the kind of property where you don’t feel like you always need to be on the go - just relaxing on the deck and taking in the view of the lake is a perfect way to spend a day. The kitchen has everything you need and allows for an awesome cooking experience. There is plenty of room to spread out and the downstairs is almost its own little suite. The management company was very responsive and helpful. 5 stars all the way around. Cant wait to come back!!

We loved our stay at Ponderosa Lodge property. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Games, working TV, great walking trails and great shower water pressure. It was a dog friendly place.. our dog loved it was well. Rooms are very roomy. Well equipped with all cooking and eating necessities. We brought our own spices, but they had several there, which is nice. Great communication with Agate bay. Definitely will return

Our experience at the Bray Vacation Home was amazing. The house had everything we could possibly need to make our stay welcoming and comfortable. It was very clean and neat, and we loved that it was dog friendly for our beloved pet to enjoy our vacation with us. The location was also incredibly perfect as it made traveling to tourist destinations and other activities we had planned very close and convenient. The view from the cabin itself made for wonderful star gazing at night on the balcony as well as just stepping out to take a look at the pine trees and blue skies. We loved our stay, and are definitely planning to book with Agate Bay Realty Lake Tahoe again the next time we visit Lake Tahoe.

I highly recommend working with Agate Bay Realty and Brett for short-term leases. We worked with Brett and his team for a year to rent out our townhouse in Truckee. Since this was our first time renting out our house, we were a bit nervous about potential damage. However, Brett and his team took excellent care of the property. Every time we returned, the house was clean and well-maintained.
Our townhouse was rented out continuously, and Brett really worked hard to make sure it was occupied during the times we weren’t using it. We compared his prices to three other reputable companies, and they were very similar. When we looked at our booking calendar compared to others in the same community, we found that our house was rented out more often.

For personal reasons unrelated to Agate Bay, we decided to take the house off the rental market for now, but if we decide to rent it again in the future, we’ll definitely reach out to Brett and his team.

The Foursome Cabin is such a cute little place! Brought my 2 pups to paddle board Lake Tahoe and it was so comfortable! Great location! Host was on top of everything and the house had more amenities than even listed! Would definitely consider staying here again in the future.
