We love this property. Absolutely beautiful views and the cutest rooms. Love setting on patio with a cup of coffee looking directly at the red mountains. Service was amazing, clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to the next trip. Great place to have a retreat.

The good news: The location is great, near to hiking trails just outside of town, super quiet & views are great. (Sundance) was cute, had a nice jacuzzi tub, tv, tiny fridge & dual sided gas fireplace. Looks exactly like the pics on the website. Those 3 appliances worked…for the most part…more later.

I arrived after dark & found my dedicated parking spot labeled clearly. There seemed to be some construction going on so parking lot & courtyard were kind of a mess.

The most frustrating part is that there are 0 directions to where the room was. I walked all over the property in the dark until I finally found my room inside the lobby building on the 2nd floor after wandering to each door & looking at the names of all the rooms. At least I received the proper door codes for the lobby & room, otherwise would have been in a pretty bad spot. NOBODY working there to help me.

No elevator & many steps all the way from the parking lot to the room. If you are disabled at all, avoid this place! Had to make 3 trips to get everything from my car.

AC/Heating unit requires a pass code (which was never provided). Had to adjust the temp by alternating between running the fireplace & opening the sliding glass door. If it had been summer or snowy, it would have been untenable. I stayed in mid-Dec. & Sedona had a warm spell, but didn’t get over 80 or below 40 degrees. Bedding was nice & functional for warmth.

Back to the specifics of the room: There is a ceiling fan attached to the same switch as the light which is a dimmer switch, but the range is “not very dim to very bright”. In order to control the light & fan separately, you either have to be about 6’2” or drag the chair from the desk & climb on it to reach the chains. The light in the shower didn’t work (only the heat light which is red). The light over the jacuzzi tub also didn’t work, & one of the bedside lamps is missing the chain, so it doesn’t work either. There is a good size closet, but only 5 hangers. There are only 2 drawers for clothes unless you consider one of the nightstands that is basically a very small dresser with 3 drawers.

They provide a coffee machine, small container of Folger’s which was half empty, a bigger container of non-dairy creamer, almost empty, some filters & about 10 packets of Splenda. 0 utensils or even stir sticks. They have some additional things in the lobby, but again, no utensils.

What I thought was the absolute weirdest thing was that it’s possible I was the only person on the property during my entire stay. I literally saw no other human. I think I heard someone coughing while walking past my door in the wee hours one morning, but I didn’t get up to inspect. No one is available to help with anything & there’s a sign on the lobby kitchen door (which is accessible 24/7) that says not to go in there & look through the cabinets or drawers for anything (but you’re allowed to go in there to get ice from the fridge - better make sure to bring your own container for the ice!).

There were zero instructions of who to call & I was never able to get on the customer portal because I was never given a username or any way to create an account or password.

My room had only a couple of coffee mugs & glasses, nothing else. Basically, if you stay in the Sundance room, pretend like you’re camping & bring absolutely everything you think you’ll need. I managed with the coffee, but bought a bottle of wine that I thought I could enjoy on my balcony (which does have a great view), but low and behold! I forgot about that pesky cork! Couldn’t find an opener, so just took it home the next day. Oh yeah, there was only one “wine glass” which was more like a glass goblet. And no one around to borrow anything from…

Additionally, all the print on the tv remote was completely rubbed off so you had to find out how to operate the tv through trial and error. I also was not able to get the DVD player to work. I didn’t even try the sound system.

All said, I would NEVER recommend this particular room to anyone, nor would I ever, ever stay here again.

Very disappointed. Stayed in the Lonesome Dove Villa. A large unit, very spacious. Unit is outdated, worn and in serious need of a remodel. Bedding looked old and discolored. Probably needed to be washed. Sofa was falling apart, gross to sit on. Shower head and sprayer were full of mineral buildup and sprayer did not work. Old old old, too much to list. In the Inn, the coffee was out, only 1 coffee cup left, trash was literally over flowing from the waste basket, photo copies of hiking maps were empty. The fire extinguishers in the Inn and room hadn’t been inspected since Dec 2022 and expired in Dec 2023, it is now Oct 2024. |The large patio paver expansion had a work stop order tag on it from Yavapai County due to no permit. Who is running this place? Was not a good experience especially for the money. We will never be back.

Very tasteful decor, my garden suite room had a lot of natural light, was very clean and spacious. Grounds were well kept, beautiful patio, jacuzzi and gardens. The location is perfect for walking a very short distance to hook up to the Bell Rock area trails.||The bed was so comfortable, loved my private deck to eat meals and look out at the beautiful scenery. Very peaceful and beautiful.

The location is amazing! We were able to go hiking right outside our place. The only thing that could have improved was if the bed wasn’t so uncomfortable. However, the views made up for it.

The Adobe Village Inn was an absolute dream! My husband and I recently stayed here on our honeymoon and it was beyond anything we could’ve imagined.
Staying here, we were able to experience the best of both worlds - it was a short distance to town with lots of great restaurants and shops, yet it felt like we were sleeping right in the middle of nature - birds chirping, fresh air, views of the mountains.. and don’t even get me started on those sunsets.
This was the perfect place to disconnect from the busyness of life and have peace, quiet and a time to relaxed that we so desperately needed and wanted. There was even a beautiful hot tub to top it off.
I also can’t speak highly enough about the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional stay. Our rooms were spotless and the girl at the front desk give excellent restaurant and hiking recommendations - which made our trip that much more memorable. We felt like we were the only ones there, yet knew she was there if we needed anything and would be well taken care of.
I would recommend anyone to stay here. My husband and I feel renewed, well rested, and ready to go back! 🙂

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN . . . We booked the Sunset room for a romantic anniversary. We were so disappointed. It looked a lot nicer from the online photos. It felt grungy, dirty and outdated. Firplace was not working (don't show the fire place with it burning when you disabled it) which was a total let down considering the weather and there was no one to call. TV was very small in a broken cabinet. No welcome basket or contact information. Not much of a view. Off the patio was trashy and overgrown with weeds. Dont think we will be returning to this villa nor recommend it to anyone. Super let down.
