Visited here whilst on a cruise stopover in Alaska. It was raining heavily and we only had limited time in Sitka so didn't bother going inside but continued walking around the local sights. Nice to see a part of the Russian history of the town though.

This was a great historic stop on the Sitka sights to see bucket list. It took 16 years to renovate this home. It is mostly original and really interesting to see. The thick beams and sand insulation is fascinating. The structure has many rooms and even a private chapel. There is a first floor that will be opening up soon I hope. There was a lot to see and a lot to learn here. Visit when you can. Cheers.

Great guided tour by National Parks of one of only four Russian period buildings left in North America. Bishop's House was completed in 1842 and was the center of Russian Orthodox Church authority in a diocese that stretched from California to Siberian Kamchatka.
