We did the Columbia Glacier Kayaking Tour and it was phenomenal! Baird was a great tour guide! The views were better than I could have ever imagined. We saw Orcas on our way out and back - even one breaching! It was a long day, but I enjoyed every minute of it and so did my family. We really appreciated the hot drinks during lunch and the gear provided kept us cozy and warm the entire trip. Could not have asked for a better day on the water.

We had a wonderful kayaking trip to Columbia Glacier. The water was glass calm both on the way to and from the glacier, and we were fortunate to have bluebird skies and very warm weather. Mike, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and patiently answered countless questions from our children. The gear provided was in good condition, and the kayaks were sturdy, modern ocean kayaks with all the bells and whistles. The guide-to-kayak ratio was small enough that everyone received attention if they wanted it. We saw a lot of wildlife, including sea otters, seals, bald eagles, and more. Snacks were provided, but I recommend bringing your own food as the trip lasted about nine hours. As other reviews have mentioned, it was worth every penny spent.

We went on the Columbia Glacier day tour and kayak which is a 10 hour day. This experience was above and beyond our expectations. Macee our tour guide and Ryan the boat driver made our day extra special. We saw otters, porpoise, sea lions and mountain goats. We went close up to the glacier in our kayaks stopping half way for a picnic lunch which you bring yourself. Marcee supplied everyone with a hot drink and a trail mix to snack on. Highest recommendation to do this trip. We were lucky and had great weather. It was a perfect day.

We did a one day kayaking trip to the Columbia bay with them. Our guide Terry was professional, informative, very friendly and helping. The trip lasted for almost the whole day but it was worth every single penny spent. Too many interesting things during the trip were memorable such as crackling glacier, blue floating ice, and some lovely wildlife. Would definitely go again with Terry and Pangaea Adventures!

We decided on a whim to try some whitewater rafting while staying in Valdez and we’re so glad we did. We opted to raft through Keystone Canyon on the Lowe River and it was a great and beautiful trip. It was not too difficult and safety was stressed, even though several in our group got our faces splashed with icy cold water as part of the experience. Part of the time allotted for the trip included gearing up and driving to and from the river, so the time spent on the water was about an hour. We thought we might be a tad stiff the next day, but all of us were just fine. For the money, this was an excellent value and the views from the river are incredible.

A great adventure: the sea kayaking trip to Shoup Glacier. 45min on a sea taxi boat each way and then some 4h kayaking to the glacier. Wonderful wildlife (sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, several bald eagles up close). Hikimg up to the glacier - increadible views!
The guide and the boat captain were excellent and very professional. The guide was taking security very seriously, and was very knowledgeable about the area history and specifics.
We were well taken care of, and would wholeheartedly recommend this company!

In August some friends and I went on a 6 day/5 night excursion, kayaking from Columbia Glacier to Shoup Glacier with Macee H as our guide. It was an adventure of a lifetime!

Macee is truly an exceptional guide, there are endless good things I could say about her - here are some highlights:
- She had excellent paddling routes and camp sites planned out, as well as backup plans/alternatives depending on what we wanted to see
- Her kayak packing and campsite management skills are fantastic, and I'm proud to say we got (marginally) faster at loading/unloading and campsite setup/tear down as the trip progressed. Macee also taught us some new knot-tying skills which will absolutely come in handy
- Her guidance on packing and clothes management (one set for day, one set for night) was crucial AND she was able to secure rubber jackets for us, which were clutch on our two rainy days
- Her knowledge is incredible and she answered our near-constant questions (and no doubt some repetition...) with so much patience - I observed and learned about tides, glaciers, ice bergs, sea otters, sea lions, harbor seals, jelly fish, star fish, black bears, salmon, kittiwakes, murrelets, harlequin ducks, scoters, guillemots, pelagic cormorants, oystercatchers, gulls and more!
- Macee found out I am a bit of a bird nerd and went absolutely above and beyond and did some bird research ahead of our trip, which I really appreciate because I know most people are not that into the birds 🙂
- She successfully accommodated two vegetarians with a variety of delicious, nutritious meals (and desserts) - I wasn't expecting a gourmet experience, so I was delighted and impressed with her cooking skills
- Generally, Macee is very observant and attentive to her guests needs - we would mention something in passing and Macee would remember it and make it happen - WOW!
- She's fun, friendly and chill and again, I cannot say enough good things about her and how lucky our group was to have her as our guide. Go Macee!! I hope we meet again!

Also shout out to Dave, who shuttled us out to Columbia glacier and made sure to slow down to let us gawk at the wildlife, and to Ryan who got us safely back to Valdez and help us with our final gear unload.

I highly recommend Pangaea as an outfitter - everything was well planned and any borrowed gear was solid, I felt confident and safe at all times and think this was incredibly good value for the experience!

Don’t miss the chance to have an adventure with Pangaea! Last year, I visited Columbia Glacier at the very beginning and end of the season. And, I can’t wait to go again! Their guides are skilled, knowledgeable, friendly & personable. I was so lucky to get to learn from Emma on my first Glacier paddle. Cool Cap’n Dave piloted us expertly to shore. There is nothing like hearing every sound at the Glacier and being on the level of the seals in the ice flow taking a peak as we paddle past. It rained both days & it was glorious. Thank you, Kristina & Tim! ^.^)
