We loved our stay at this inn. We stayed in a 1st floor room with a queen and king bed. There was sufficient room for 3 of us. The room was very clean and cute. |Chelsea is the best. She is a wonderful host and so helpful. She has drinks in the refrigerator in the lobby for $1.25.||While she doesn't serve breakfast, there is a toaster and microwave for guests to use. We bought breakfast food at the grocery store and took advantage of the microwave. ||Easy to walk to main part of town and all of the restaurants and shops. ||Would recommend this inn to anybody looking for lodging in Skagway.

We stayed for 2 nights here and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood only a few walking minutes from the business section of town. Everyone here including the owner has been welcoming and so pleasant. Our room #208 is a basic historical B&B room but it is comfortable and it has all the amenities you need. We only wish that they would still offer breakfast because Skagway does not offer many sit down breakfast options.

Renovated century-old guest accommodation. Small but adequate rooms, very clean, at the edge of a quiet residential neighborhood. It's no longer a B&B, so you have to forage elsewhere, but Skagway is a small town, easy to get around and find stuff.

This lovely inn is a short walk to the restaurants and attractions in Skagway but just outside the historic district and therefore away from the hordes of cruise ship passengers. Immaculately clean, and beautifully appointed. As many others have said the innkeeper, Chelsea, is as friendly, accommodating, and helpful as can be. Highly recommended!!!

This is such a lovely old hotel. On our adventure trip to Alaska, I booked 2 nights here. Hotel is located on a quiet street and the staff including the owner could not be nicer and more helpful. I wish they would still be serving breakfast because choices in town are very limited. We stayed in room 208.

My husband and I were excited to be taking the Alaska Marine Highway to Skagway on May 7, 2024. Our trip was to be brief--overnight. We booked room 201 in advance of the trip through atthewhitehouse.com. Be sure to visit this site. The photos are accurate. Chelsey is FUN! She provides information about Skagway, restaurants, transportation, and various activities in town. She is a JOY! Our overnight stay went very well. The entire home is extremely quiet, even with a packed house. We were amazed because she notes on her site that the home is not "sound-proof." We certainly could not tell that. The amenities in the room are excellent. We had a mini-frig, t.v. (never turned on), wireless internet access, and coffee. There's also hot tea, cocoa, a microwave, and a selection of reading materials in the downstairs lobby. The bed was cozy and comfy. The shower was the best. Chelsey has thought about everything a guest could require and has a notebook in the room loaded with additional information. Chelsey kept our luggage until it was time to check into our room on May 7. We told her when we left on May 8 that we wished we could stay longer because she was correct in her statement, "One day isn't enough time" to see everything in Skagway. On May 8, we returned to the ferry terminal and watched as the Hubbard made four attempts at docking. It could not as the waters were dangerous. Travelers, including those on cruise ships, were stranded in Skagway. The ferry would not return until May 10. My husband immediately contacted Chelsey for help. Our room was still available, so Chelsey booked us for another night. Once we returned to At the White House, Chelsey provided a list of possible places to stay in Skagway for May 9. Thanks to her, we got the last available room in Skagway for that night. That certainly beat sleeping on the floor at one of the local church buildings. Again, we cannot say enough about Chelsey. She provided refrigeration for my medication and kept my ice packs in her freezer on both days when we checked out. We are GRATEFUL for this wonderful woman who makes all guests feel special and goes above and beyond any of our expectations. We observed her interactions with many guests. Behind her back, we all raved about this lady. This is our opportunity to rave online! Stay AT THE WHITE HOUSE!

This is the absolute perfect place to stay while in Skagway! It is walkable to downtown and the dock, but away from the crowds and noise. It is oh so comfortable and clean just like home. And the host, Chelsea, is the friendliest, most helpful ever! Even if you don’t stay here, come by and talk to Chelsea— she’ll definitely brighten your day! High recommend this hotel! I liked it so much, I stayed twice!

Cute as a button. Everything is clean and tidy and well-organized. Comfortable beds. Communication with Chelsey was fantastic. We had a small mishap with our car and asked where we could buy some duct tape to help with the drive home. The next morning, she’d left a roll out at the desk with a kind note. We travelled with friends who have stayed at another similar Inn in Skagway previously (rooms with women’s names) and they felt that At the White House was nicer - and no shared bathrooms. We would stay again without hesitation.
